We have been working on this project for quite a few years now and it’s really coming together as a whole. This year we have making regular maintenance visits and its really paying off. Also totally love getting my hands dirty and gardening in such a heavenly location. Three Red Kites flew over to top the day off.

So glad we managed to get this front garden planted before lock down, it was a close run thing! All the areas that look like earth now will shortly be covered in fresh Hakonechloa macra grasses. Later on in the summer there will be loads of Agapanthus. I’m hoping that Jane can jog by soon and catch a few snaps as it greens up.

We are pleased how this garden looks in the winter. It’s a garden we design a few years ago and the brief was pretty much ‘keep it zen’. We went for texture in a big way. Particularly liking the grasses, Hakonechloa in their winter colour.

Sorting out photos and thought I would share our pics of a recent roof garden project. We are really pleased with how the plants have established. We used a lot of dwarf pines and grasses and they have thrived in the exposed conditions. It was make for a company based near London Bridge and when we first saw it it was quite bleak. It’s now such a proper garden it’s hard to believe you are literally under the Shard.

Visiting this project is always such a pleasure and it’s really good to see it coming together 😍 The pleached trees have established well and the brick paths looks like they have always been there. The house is starting to sit in its landscape more comfortably rather than looking like it has been dropped in from elsewhere. Hortus Build and the talented Yanos have, as always, done an excellent job.

Had a site visit to our Biddenden project last week. Lovely to see phase 1 take shape. Early days with the planting but colour and form are emerging. The brick and York stone terraces and paths have mellowed and look a lot less raw.

View! Just came across this pic from a while back. This office roof garden might look simple but it was challenging. We learnt a lot about weight loading and how inconvenient it is. The only thing we could do in the end was lay Sedum matting. It might be low but is truly beautiful and covered in bees.
Installed expertly by Hortus Build, Oak seats are made by the wonderful Constructive & Co, solid looking but cleverly lightweight. Don't need much more with a view like that.

Phase 1 of country project is well underway. It is always very exciting to see the design taking shape on the ground. For us it has been really iinteresting to work in a different scale and to respond to a different architectural vernacular. Phase 2 starting soon, hurrah!

We are really pleased with the build of this garden. Funnily enough Jane designed the original garden when the house was built ten plus yrs ago. As often happens with house builds the garden was compromised due to budget squeeze. Umpteen years later we get another go, very satisfying. Planting next week 😀🌱🌷
