Huge congratulations to Stephen George Hinds, who has been awarded a Green Card Certificate by SES for outstanding H&S performance on site.

The award recognises Stephen's awareness around working at height, use of correct access equipment, and his willingness to intervene when observing others' working practices. That last point matters. Spotting a risk and saying something takes confidence and it is exactly the kind of behaviour that keeps people safe.

Well done Stephen. A deserved recognition and a proud moment for the RDS team.

Price gets you in the room. Track record keeps you there.

The majority of our work comes from clients who have used RDS before. Main contractors who know what to expect from RDS. Who trust the installation will be right and the sign-off process will not become a problem.

That kind of reputation takes years to build. It does not come from one well-delivered project. It comes from being consistent enough, across many jobs, that the reappointment of RDS stops being a question.

It is the thing that rarely shows up on a tender form but tends to matter most when a client is deciding who to trust with a complex ductwork package.

You've probably walked past an RDS project without knowing it.

The office buildings, the residential towers, the mixed-use schemes across central London and beyond. The ductwork keeping the air moving, the fire-rated systems protecting the structure, the ventilation serving every floor, installed by a specialist contractor that most people have never heard of.

That's fine by us. The work is in the buildings. That's where it should be.

You wouldn't run a marathon without training, so why would you start a job without the right preparation in place?

Before a single piece of ductwork arrives on site at Milbank, the team had already mapped the programme. Labour confirmed. Materials ordered. Delivery slots booked. Storage organised. A five-week manufacturing lead time for the fire-rated systems planned in from the beginning.

Because a job that starts right stays right. When something unexpected comes up mid-programme, the teams who prepared can respond. The ones who didn't lose time they can't get back.

Nine weeks of pre-start planning. That's what it takes to hit a completion date on a project of this size.

22 storeys. 220,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. Exposed ductwork on every floor. And a two-week window to complete first fix on each level.

220 Blackfriars is one of the most logistically demanding projects RDS has delivered. The programme does not move. That means manufacturing has to be right, deliveries have to land on time, and the install teams have to be ready from day one on every floor.

Each level has two dedicated plantrooms, allowing easy split between separate tenancies. Below ground, two basement levels of landlord plant, cycle stores and shower facilities, all served by a mixed-use ventilation and smoke extract system to EN 1366. At ground level, a large reception and future retail space.

Nine weeks before boots hit site. That's how early our team started planning the Millbank project.

Estimating, CAD, operations, commercial, all in a room together. A five-week manufacturing window for the fire-rated systems built into the programme from the start.

That preparation is what keeps a job on programme. It's what lets the team absorb problems when they come up, because the right people have already thought them through.

It doesn't happen by accident. It happens because the whole office pulls together before anyone sets foot on site.

A 1960s building, 30 storeys, over 24 risers and ductwork left fully exposed on every occupied floor.

When the services are on show, there's nowhere to hide. Every run, every joint, every bracket has to be right. Not near enough. Right.

RDS are delivering the full ductwork package at Thirty High Victoria, working through an existing structure that doesn't bend to a modern services layout. Flat oval on the CAT A floors. Fire-rated systems in the core. Basement plantrooms, roof-level plant, a double-height reception pavilion, and a full shower facility at basement level.

Challenging structure. High specification. The kind of project RDS does well.
