Colombia Pavilion

In One Hundred Years of Solitude, the Colombian Nobel Prize-winning author G. García Márquez vividly captures, through his magic realism, the moment a boy witnesses ice for the first time in the mythical town of Macondo. Drawing inspiration from this poignant scene, the Colombian Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo embraces the concept of ICE CUBE, featuring a façade design composed of numerous translucent cubes set in various directions, to convey a sense of movement and articulation. At first, the façade presents the visitors with an unlikely association between the country of Colombia and Ice Cubes, only for this connection to unravel as the visitors venture through the pavilion.
コロンビアを代表するノーベル文学賞作家、G・ガルシア＝マルケスによる『百年の孤独』には、蜃気楼の村マコンドで、生まれて初めて氷を目にした少年の姿が、マジックリアリズムと呼ばれる文学手法で鮮やかに描かれている。この印象的なシーンからインスピレーションを受け、大阪・関西万博のコロンビアパビリオンでは『ICE CUBE』をコンセプトとして、様々な角度の多数の半透明キューブで構成されたファサードデザインが動きとアーティキュレーションを表現している。このファサードが来館者に示すコロンビアとアイスキューブの意外な関連性は、来館者が館内を進むうちに次第に明らかになっていく。

More than a space — it’s a cultural narrative.

The Gipsoteca at the heart of the Italian Pavilion is more than an interior — it’s a sculpted story. A place where architecture meets curatorship, designed to immerse visitors in a reflection on Italian identity, thought, and timeless beauty.

This space is the result of a close and dynamic collaboration with , with whom we’ve shared bold challenges — both architectural and cultural. The visionary strength of one of Italy’s most respected cultural figures has inspired and empowered us to explore new ground, expanding our shared language far beyond the Pavilion itself.

Together, we’ve carried this approach into international contexts — from Colorado to Northern Europe, and through new projects currently unfolding across the United States.

Every project becomes an opportunity to rethink the relationship between space and meaning, form and identity.

Expo experience was just the beginning.

Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened on Sunday!

We are proud to finally share the project we developed for the Italy Pavilion, the result of an inspiring and dynamic collaboration with (with Marco Casamonti, great Architect and Professor), , that bring their deep expertise in the cultural field, the builder , and Manens, aie progetti, geoeco progetti, Aim Create.

Special thanks to our sister firm, .morf.jp, for their invaluable on-the-ground insight and local consultancy.

Our proposal was awarded third place in the design competition and marks an important milestone in a shared journey that continues today with other ongoing projects.

We’re honored to be part of this vision.

In our social housing project in Bolzano, the apartments are designed to offer warm, bright, and flexible spaces, where wood takes center stage to create a natural and welcoming atmosphere.

This image showcases one of the units, designed with well-being and quality of life in mind:
- A terrace/winter garden that brings greenery inside and doubles the living space
- An open and social living space, perfect for family life
- Large windows for natural light and optimal ventilation

More than just a home—a place to truly feel at home.

We’re excited to share our project for a social housing residence in Bolzano, where we placed third in the competition and received a special mention as an example of building with wood.

At the heart of the design is the ground floor, envisioned as an "urban garage"—a dynamic, shared space where residents can fix their bikes, read, study, or just relax in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

An architecture that’s not just about buildings, but about improving quality of life and fostering a real sense of community.
