Our forklift is back in operation 🥳 those of you who have been in this past week will have seen our forklift lying in bits down at the bottom of the car park, with the parts we needed being several weeks on back order 😭 but with lots of hard work from Wm WM Rose & Sons Ltd we're up and running again!
Big thanks to Garden Solutions for allowing us to borrow their forklift a couple of times, meaning we didn't have to handball all of the compost bags this week.

Lovely bright colours on the Gerbera Garvinea are a welcome sight after today's heavy showers, massive plants in colour coordinated pots means you can pop them straight onto your patio for instant impact all summer long 👌

The Summer Bedding polytunnel is now empty! We can't believe the amazing response to our annual crop of summer bedding and basket plants this year, we grew an additional 15%, ran out of growing space, had to bubble wrap almost every night for weeks on end and then battled soaring temperatures in the last week or so.
We've had so many lovely comments about the range and quality of our home grown plants that we've already started planning how we could grow more, I wonder how Dave feels about building another polytunnel 🤔
The last few trays of plants have been moved into the greenhouse for sale but won't be around for long.

Standing watering well after closing time after what turns out to be one of our busiest ever weekends (as well as one of the hottest!) I'm thankful for all the support from everyone that took the time to visit us.

*However* as well as experiencing much higher numbers of visitors, during extreme heats, we've also experienced an increase in people treating staff members in, what can only be described as, a rude manner, especially in the tea room.

We had to put out the "Orders Paused" sign this afternoon for the first time to allow the staff to catch up on orders, clear tables, wash dishes, take rest breaks and actually eat some lunch. The fact that more than one person decided that this warranted verbal abuse towards staff members is repugnant. This behaviour will not be tolerated towards staff.

If you see the "Orders Paused" sign at the car park or in the tea room, please take a moment to understand that we are working as hard and as fast as we can but, as human beings, can only manage so much!

We're blooming good at what we do and we love doing it, all we ask for is a little patience and respect. 💚

Lots more growing on so new stock will be coming out over the next few weeks too 👌

While the last few weeks have been all about summer bedding, we've been busy in the greenhouse growing on our next crop of home grown perennials. These stunning Heucherella Sweet Tea have just started going out for sale and are already flying out the door.
These warm bronze hues stay all year round and provide a fantastic show of colour even in the depths of winter!

A fantastic addition to the Verbena Showboat colours, considered "semi-trailing", this broad leaf verbena makes an excellent filler for baskets and tubs where you need something to cover the edge but don't want it trailing too far down 👌
