A rather belated post of a garden transformation in Burton on Trent a month or so ago! This is a great example of a fairly bland, unusable new build garden turned into a wildlife friendly haven for enjoying a quiet coffee in the morning and then relaxing with friends in the evening.

This project involved a lot of reusing existing materials - both sustainable and budget friendly!

Swipe for the before!! 🥰 This is our latest completed project for a client in Loughborough, a part garden transformation with lots of space created for flowers and life to flourish, welcoming in a host of insects and other wildlife. 🐛 Our brief was to create a beautiful space to enjoy whilst not losing too much grass. By adding some key focal points, that sense of space is maintained, with plenty of interest and dynamic added. A fountain is yet to be placed on the centre circle, this will provide a central feel of calm and relaxation as the sound of flowing water fills the background of the coming summer evenings. Keep an eye out for progress pictures in a few weeks as the garden blooms and it’s full potential blossoms! 🌸 🌺 🌹

I took this picture the other day (pre-snow!) of a butterfly and a bee sharing the same clump of flowers on a laurustinus virburnum in our garden. Having a mix of early flowering plants in our gardens provides an essential boost to nectar feeders like these while they wait for the spring blooms to flourish. An easy and significant way to help our local invertebrates!

Gardens can therefore play a hugely significant role in the support, protection and flourishing of the UK’s native wildlife.
