When creating palettes for bedrooms, we work in close collaboration with the client, and always consider longevity.

It’s important for clients to think about what they’re more comfortable updating over time - particularly in children’s bedrooms.

For some, repainting is far easier than replacing furniture or decorative pieces. That often becomes a key factor in how we approach the palette and overall scheme.

On site as this basement scheme continues to take shape.
Designed as a multifunctional entertainment space, the layout has been carefully divided into three connected zones: a lounge area, a dedicated pool table setting, and a bespoke wine display.

The scheme draws on a contemporary club-room aesthetic, with a layered palette of tactile materials, oak flooring, and matching oak worktops bringing warmth and texture throughout the space. Cabinetry finished in Inchyra Blue introduces depth and contrast, while brushed bronze hardware and statement lighting soften the darker tones.

The deep orange pool table baize adds a punchy complimenting contrast within the otherwise muted palette, bringing energy into the room without overpowering the overall scheme. Rich dark brown leather seating completes the design, balancing comfort, durability, and a relaxed atmosphere suited to entertaining.

Follow along for more updates on this exciting project.

Pairing bathroom colours only requires a few simple steps:

• Pick one main colour first (tiles, wall, or vanity) and build everything else around it
• Match your taps and fittings — don’t mix too many finishes (e.g. stick to brass or chrome)
• Use darker colours on one feature area instead of everywhere (like a shower wall)
• Add warmth with natural materials like wood or brick to avoid a cold feel
• Balance bold colours with neutrals so the space doesn’t feel overwhelming
• If unsure, limit your palette to 2–3 colours max

One of my personal favourite spaces in this project.

A bespoke bookcase now divides the family room into two distinct spaces, a snug and TV lounge, bringing structure and warmth to the heart of the home.

The Epping Forest project has come a long way since the early stages.

Looking forward to sharing the finished spaces soon.

Sourcing is one of the most engaging stages of the design process for me. It’s where you start to see how different elements will actually work together in the space.

Exploring different makers, suppliers and new finishes on the market is always an insightful experience, and one that consistently sparks fresh creative direction.

Thanks to Shaun and Rebecca at for the warm welcome and a well-curated visit.

Early concept for this living space.

The priority here is spatial planning. Positioning the seating, defining zones, and making sure the room works as a whole.

Once that’s clear, we move into the details.

More to follow soon.

Preliminary design sketches for a principal bedroom and en suite.

The focus is on flow between the two spaces, and getting the layout right so both feel connected.

From there, I layer in joinery, lighting, and finishes to support the plan.

Swipe to see the concept.

On site at Epping Forest Project.

The kitchen is coming along well. Cabinetry and island are now in, with the pendant lights positioned above.

Still plenty to do, but the layout is working well and the scheme is starting to come together.

Looking forward to seeing it fully furnished and styled.
