Tim Pickbourne Design

Tim Pickbourne Design Drawings for Planning & Building Regulations Applications. Extensions, conversions, specifications. I left LSI at the end of 2021.

I am a self employed Architectural Technician with over 30 years experience. I worked for Stephenson Bell Architects an award winning Manchester based practice for 18 years before relocating to Suffolk in 2002. For the past decade I have worked for award winning Norwich based LSI Architects. I have experience in all aspects of Architecture from small scale domestic schemes and refurbishment projec

ts through to large scale commercial projects in both the private and public sectors. My passion is good architectural design and detail, no matter what the size or type of project. My aim is to provide a friendly professional service, from initial discussions to determine the clients expectations. Once agreed, carry out a measured building survey to enable production of drawings. With client approval of drawings we proceed with Planning and Building Regulations approval and finally construction.

Collaborating with my Architect friend Richard Bassett. We have completed Planning and Building Regulations for an extension to an existing farm house with a new build utility space and double garage with workshop in Willingham St Mary, Suffolk. The new utility room with gable window to provide borrowed light into the existing kitchen through a retained window in the existing gable. The lime render matching a previous porch addition. The double garage with roof storage and workshop. The local builder known to the clients did a fantastic job in construction as you can see from the photographs.

I am sharing completion photos of the polyester powder coated mild steel balcony with treated timber decking and glazing infill.
The concept information was detailed in a previous post.
The client was really pleased with the end result which aesthetically tied in well with an external staircase already installed.
The metalwork fabricator commented on the inventive design given the site constraints we were working with.
I was invited by the client to view the finished installation and thought the quality of the fabrication was exceptional. Message me for details of the metalwork sub contractor.

A set of concept drawings for a galvinised steel and glass balcony with a treated timber decking infill. The different stages detail how the balcony is broken into separate components and the sequence of how they are fixed in place over the single storey outrigger. The details have been Issued for the approval from the client and also for fabricator and structural engineer input. Once approved, fabrication drawings can be issued.
