Manufacturer sent The Acumen22 out to a complaint pointed out by the fitter before he left site. The complaint was that there was a clump of glue in the carpet and the tufts would not lay flat.

When we inspected, it turned out to be a hole in the carpet that somebody had tried to repair using gorilla glue or superglue type adhesive.

The carpet was stuck to the underlay where the hole was. There was too much glue in the hole that obviously had gone off too quickly before the tufts could be pushed flat. The glue was rock solid.

We dissolved enough of the glue with acetone to enable us to get the tufts down and near level. Put in a few tufts that were missing.

We then micro-sheared the tufts flat and level with those surrounding it.

Customer happy.

No matter how hard they tried , the fitters could not stretch out what appeared to be light creasing in the carpet.

The Acumen were appointed to diagnose the issue by the manufacturer.

When lifted we could see that there were some issues with the backing right where the creases were.

We carried out backing repairs , a 0.5mm micro-shear and refitted.

Problem solved. Customer happy, no carpet to land fill, no replacement costs …
