This was a lovely project undertaken over three working weeks.
The mosaic had extensive areas of historic settlement and mechanical damage to be addressed prior to grouting, deep cleaning and sealing.

Reproduction Victorian Geometric Pathway and Verandah installation,

My clients requested a bespoke Victorian style frontage to they're stunning Georgian home.
I removed the original, weather damaged quarry tiles, installed a new sub base and Ardex A38 screed before hand cutting and installing the bespoke geometric tiles.

This fine hallway was all but lost due to flood damage, the section unaffected by water ingress required light restoration whilst an entire 4 meter area of major damage required excavating, the sub base replacing, screeding and a new section of Geometric tiling installing. I used as many reclaimed tiles as possible. Virtually all the reproduction tiles are hand cut, the floor had a very unusual geometry due to the shape of the building.

We just completed the restoration of this fantastic grand hallway situated in the old infirmary building which was once part of the now redeveloped St Crispin site in Northampton.
The period Victorian tiling was originally supplied by Craven Dunnill and occupies approximately 80 metres squared floor area.
There were many repairs to be undertaken before the tiles were deep cleaned, primed and sealed to restore the floor to its former glory.
Connolly lodge now serves as a busy day nursery which, whilst logistically very tricky to restore, the floor was a real pleasure to work on due to the fantastic attitude of the staff.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to Michelle Harris, Michael Boulden and everyone else there for they're help and consideration.

Victorian Geometric ceramic tile restoration.

This stunning grade 1 listed church with its 13th century bell tower and Twin Hammer Beam roof construction is one of finest in England.
I'm very proud to have been asked to restore the geometric tiling which was installed in the Victorian era.
The tiling was in terrible condition, with years of unfortunate multiple applications of seal which had hardened off to form a kind of shellac. It took many gruelling ours of hand cleaning to liberate the tiles and show the full scope of repairs. These were sensitively undertaken before the floor was allowed to dry, then sealed with Lithofin StainStop colour intensifier to offer maximum protection whilst allowing the tiles to breath.
I want to say thank you to George and Daralyn Hammond and everyone else at St Mary's who made me feel so welcome during the Works.

Major Restoration;
Victorian Geometric, Minton type, Ceramic Hallway.

This stunning floor required extensive work, approximately two thirds was lifted, each individual, complete tile dressed using the trusty angle grinder before relaying with a blend of hand cut reproduction tiles.
The restoration also required approximately 3 linear metres of replacement border section hand cut and fixed along with two door threshold replacements.
The work was finished with a deep clean and seal.
My client waited years to have the floor restored which made the job all the more worth while.
The results are a stunning high specification hallway with an unusual geometry.
