Palladio doors are double-rebated as standard. But what does that mean?
A rebate is a groove cut out on the edge of the door, allowing the door and frame to interlock. So a double-rebate gives you a double-seal, with one seal making contact externally with the outside and the other making contact internally with the door and frame.
How is it useful to me as a homeowner?
Double-rebated doors are thicker than single-rebated doors, making them resistant to almost any weather condition, thereby preventing heat from escaping, leading to low U-values and helping the doors be highly energy-efficient.
