Check out some of the resin repairs carried out to the sills and frames on our latest project in Hitchen. All decay has been removed back to solid and sound timber, stabiliser applied (dryfix uni) and a 4hr resin applied to all corner and large repairs, we have also added a primer coat to protect from aspects until the decorator follows on in march.

New project starts in Hitchen this week. We will be here for around a month. We have all original windows within the property being restored, a variety of repairs including repair care resin repairs to sills and conservation joints , various splice repairs including bottom rails and sills. We will be installing a draught-proofing system windows. We have a variety of sash and casement windows to be working on in the main house and replacing 11 windows in the coach house that were manufactured less than 20 years ago!!! This goes to show the durability and quality in traditional timber and joinery manufactured 100+ years ago against modern replacements. The new windows have been manufactured from accoya and will be finished in black to match the original colour. The clients decorator will follow later in the spring to redecorate the main house, we will apply a preservative primer in the mean time to protect from the aspects. Today we get started in the kitchen. Stay tuned for more updates

Renovation of Venetian sash window, replacement of broken pain and repairs to conversation joints. Once paint had been removed discovered how much moisture was absorbed into the timber. These were left in a warm room and have now been left to dry out over night, tomorrow morning the repair process will begin. Stay tuned.

New project starts today In Berkhamsted!!! New sash inserts being installed into the original boxes, inserts installed with acoustic laminate 14mm heritage slims. Boxes will under go a full renovation and we will install the inserts alongside our draught proofing system. Updates to follow.

Here is some of the internal progress from Eaton brey. All 8 original boxes have been restored repaired and painted, inserts have now been installed and internal decoration will be complete today. We now have the teaming 6 windows to carry out starting Monday next week. Happy Friday 😉

Our latest project has started in Eaton Brey this week. We will be restoring 13 original existing boxes and installing new accoya sash inserts that replicate the traditional style and mouldings, reason for replacement is due to the overall depth of sash being too narrow to accommodate heritage slims and still retain structural integrity. We will install new lead bar counter weights supplied by and our draughtproofing system. Windows will be finished in Stay tuned for updates as we work through the process.
