Another 30-post garden completed over 3 days 🔨

Removing the old concrete posts was a challenge on this one — each footing had around 60–70kg of concrete behind it. Instead of spending days breaking them out by hand, we used new machinery and lifting chains to pull them clean out 💪

We also designed and built a bespoke 1m-wide side gate for the customer. Wider than standard, but future-proofed to allow access for a mini digger and dumper if needed later on 👌

Smart planning = fewer headaches in the future. Another tidy job completed ✅

Driveway gates and a large summer house to complete here next.

Monumental job completed today at a property in Yorkley.

Another huge garden clear-out transformed into a fully tiered and functional outdoor space.

• 6 tiers built using hardwood timber sleepers
• 3 tiers laid with fresh turf
• 2 dedicated veg patch tiers
• Top tier created for a gravel and greenhouse area
• Every section separated with picket fencing for a clean, structured finish

A massive amount of work went into this one:
• 8 tonnes of topsoil moved in
• Over 50 sleepers installed
• Around 400 pickets used
• Countless hours and details to bring the whole project together

A proper team effort and a fantastic transformation from start to finish.

Another transformation completed in Whitecroft ✅

We removed 75m² of tired, worn patio and installed 30m² of fresh Country Green paving along with 45m² of new turf — creating a clean, modern, and low-maintenance garden ready for summer.

It’s been a busy month for us so far 👇

✔️ 20 fence panels installed at one property in Yorkley
✔️ Another 5 panels completed at a second property in Yorkley
✔️ Stock fencing job finished in Woolaston
✔️ Panel fencing completed in Alvington
✔️ Another install wrapped up in English Bicknor
✔️ Plus a small picket fence and tidy-up at a new rental in Bream

And that’s alongside the usual workload — large oak reductions, concrete bases, stump grinding, and plenty of patio jobs now kicking off.

Summer’s shaping up to be a busy one 🌿💪

Back to one of our favourite customers in Woodcroft last week to finish off the space between the new pool house and the existing patio and pool.

We laid 60m² of Raven Utility slabs to tie everything together and create a clean, usable area.

Big thanks to Darren and Graham Severnside Sand and Aggregates for the digger and dumper hire and getting the aggregate exactly where we needed it and to D.lowe cleaning services for giving us a hand laying.

Good few days laying in the dry — always a bonus! Another tidy job completed.

Big transformation on this week’s job 👌

We started with a full clearance – a trailer load of rubbish removed, old patio lifted, decking and shed taken down, plus a few tonnes of soil taken away to get the levels right.

From there we rebuilt the space properly:

✔️ 5 tonnes of MOT laid for a solid foundation with 2 tonnes of granite dust for the artificial grass.
✔️ 18m² of brand new patio installed
✔️ 24m² of artificial grass laid
✔️ New shed fitted
✔️ New gate installed
✔️ Finished off with a few extra touches to bring it all together

A lot of hard work went into this one, but the end result completely transformed the garden into a clean, usable space ready to enjoy.

Usual thanks to Darren and Graham at Severnside Sand and Aggregates and SWM for all the materials.

These are the jobs that make it all worthwhile 💪

We were called out this week to assess a mature ash with a significant cavity in the trunk, raising concerns over structural integrity and imminent failure.

Following a site assessment and consideration of targets, the safest option was a controlled directional fell up the access track. This allowed us to manage the compromised stem while maintaining control of the hinge and fall line.

Felling direction was assisted with a pull line from the truck. A well-formed hinge provided consistent fibre control, and the tree went exactly as planned.

The client retained the main stems for milling, with the remaining timber processed into firewood for use in his Rayburn.

Work completed efficiently and safely, with no damage to surrounding ground or infrastructure — and back in the yard by lunchtime.

Productive day stump grinding today.

We removed a range of stumps, from old pear and cherry trees to a particularly large goat willow that was felled a few months ago. All ground out cleanly and ready for replanting or landscaping.

Complete removal of this Silver Birch tree carried out this morning in the Pillowell Conservation Area 🌳

The tree had developed a severe lean over the neighbour’s conservatory, posing a clear safety risk. Our experienced team assessed the situation and carried out a safe, controlled removal with minimal disruption.

We successfully handled the planning permission process well in advance, saving the client the hassle of dealing with the Forest of Dean District Council and ensuring full compliance within the Conservation Area.

We always offer full waste removal, including woodchip and logs, but in this case the customer was happy to keep both.
