2. Kitchen/dining room feature wall tiled.
3. Fireplace tiled.

Another brick slip fireplace done for Uk Flue Installations this week. A bit of a change from the norm this time, with the back wall done in a herringbone pattern. All that's left to do is install the surround once the customer takes delivery. To be continued...

But it's time to get back to work. I can't wait to help you with all your projects around your homes.

Below is my last job before Christmas.

I took a room my customers didn't enjoy spending time in, to a cosy room they now love.

I swapped out the tired paintwork for wallpaper, installed a new fire surround and coving. And finally hung all the pictures and a mirror above the fireplace.

Before and after regrouting for a lovely customer in Freckleton. The grout had discoloured over time, so it was ready to be ground out and fresh white grout put in.

A recent job painting my customer's hall, stairs and landing. The area had seen better days. They wanted a blank white canvas to create more light in an otherwise dark house. They planned to introduce colour through other ways, such as pictures and accessories.

The finished product is about halfway through after a slide show of how it used to look.

Preparation is everything!

That starts with keeping your property clean and tidy with dustsheets and my little green friend, Henry. It's masking, filling, sanding, priming, measuring, setting out, and so much more, before you even get close to the finished product. Preparation is the most important part of any job, because it makes the rest of the work so much easier to get right. What that gives you is a product you can be proud of, and your customer left happy.

This week has been jam-packed, getting fireplaces ready for Uk Flue Installations to do their magic and install stoves for their lovely clients.

I'm currently running behind with getting back to people about their enquiries and quotes. I do apologise and will get back to all of you as soon as I can. I'm a one man business, and sometimes finding the balance between the two sides of the job can be challenging, especially when you have a 6 year old that has no off button to contend with during your free time.

One from some time ago...

This room had suffered badly from damp. I stripped back the wallpaper and removed the coving. I removed all the black mould, skimmed the whole room, put a vent in the wall, and finally painted.

It was lovely to go back to my roots last week with this fireplace. Brick slips were added to a modernised farmhouse to bring some of that rustic charm back. 🧱🔥
