Kate Fawcett Artist Fine artist working in oils and acrylics and printmaking. Subject matter is usually landscape, seascape and natural forms. form and essence of the location.

I am fascinated with the ever changing landscape in which we find ourselves , particularly that of Cheshire where I have lived now for more than 30 years. Passionate about colour, I am not concerned with reproducing an accurate depiction of my subject matter but rather in conveying the atmosphere, colour. I am intrigued by the transformation of the 3D reality onto the 2D surface of the canvas or p

aper. To this end I work in a dynamic and experimental fashion often adding texture with the use of a palette, knife, collage and stitch and sometimes dribbling paint onto the surface of the painting to emphasise line,form and to add drama. I have exhibited extensively and my work is in private collections locally, nationally and internationally.

This 50x50 painting ‘Purpleicious’ was inspired by a wonderful day with The Northern Girls back in the spring sketching in the beautiful Arley Hall Gardens. I was so captivated by the colours and forms and colours of the beared irises in flower. This will be coming with me and will be for sale at our upcoming exhibition at The Clonterbrook Gallery, Trap Road, Swettenham Heath, CW12 2LS Friday19th Sat 20th and Sun 21st 10-4pm each day..all the artists will be there to offer you a warm welcome. So pleased with the quality of these three new greeting cards depicting my paintings which will be on sale at our upcoming Northern Girls exhibition which starts 2 weeks today! So excited to to welcome all that can come to the beautiful Clonterbrook Gallery on Friday 19th, Sat. 20th and Sun 21st September. 10-4pm each day. We can’t wait to welcome you and show off our new paintings along with Special Guest artist Karin Sheldon who will be bringing her beautiful unique jewellery pieces..
