Keep your garden well watered in this hot weather!! 🪴☀️

A few extra hot-weather tips:☀️

In hot weather, the best time to water plants is early morning, ideally between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Why morning works best:

* Cooler temperatures reduce evaporation
* Plants absorb water before midday heat stress
* Leaves dry quickly, helping prevent fungal diseases

If morning isn’t possible, the second-best time is late afternoon or early evening (after the hottest part of the day, usually after 6 p.m.). Avoid watering too late at night because damp soil and leaves overnight can encourage disease.

* Water deeply and less often rather than shallow daily sprinkling
* Focus water at the base of the plant, not the leaves
* Add mulch to keep soil cooler and reduce evaporation
* Container plants may need watering twice daily during extreme heat

Different plants vary:

* Vegetables and potted plants dry out fastest
* Established trees and shrubs usually prefer deep weekly watering
* Succulents need much less frequent watering even in heat

also the garden cafe can now offer oat milk as an alternative to cows milk for your hot drinks

The cold drink can be swapped for a takeaway hot drink from the cafe during cafe opening hours only.

All for £6.50!!! Or £8.50 with a hot drink.

Pick up your meal deal from the fridge located in the main shop in the garden centre!
