A few photos from the Awards Ceremony earlier this month in Amersfoort, NL.

It was great to see our entry recognised alongside such strong international talent, and to contribute to the wider architectural discourse.

Thanks to and Jacqueline Fuijkschot for the photos.

Amicitia Exchange in Amersfoort, NL (last post!)

We reimagined the historic Amicitia building as a mixed live/work hub for startups, makers, young professionals, and families to ease housing pressure while boosting local economy.
A new modular brick façade opens the ground floor to the street, with parklets, a public square, and new loft apartments (Uptoppen) transforming the building into a vibrant community and economic hub, with shared facilities and circularity at its core.

Thanks to my collaborator and to the Europan judges for the mention.

Great to be featured in yesterday’s Architects’ Journal article: AI and architects: What we know so far.

Even since my New Practice interview last October, the AI landscape has continued to evolve at an incredible pace. As a small studio, I've integrated AI into both front-end (design) and back-end (office) workflows, significantly boosting productivity, and it's encouraging to see others embracing this technology.

I still don’t view AI tools as an existential threat to architects (at least not yet), but rather as assistants. They enable us to reach a higher quality end product within a timeframe through increased iterations, comparisons, sense checks, or simply ensuring all paths are explored. However, I hope we can avoid overly compressed timeframes due to these emerging technologies and strive for the optimum quality/time balance.

On a separate note, our platform hit proof of concept stage - more on that soon!

To mark the launch of our 2025 AI survey, the AJ takes a look back at our recent coverage of how AI tools are being used and viewed across the industry

Currently on site!

Work is underway on this full house refurbishment to a 16th-century terrace in the Trawden conservation area.

We developed the design and construction information for a bespoke shaker-style kitchen, a dining space with built-in joinery, and a reimagined living room that frames the stunning landscape views (swipe to see more).

Looking forward to seeing it all come together!

One of our first built projects as a practice – completed earlier this year.
This bungalow extension in Urmston was designed for a retired couple looking to improve their home for family gatherings.

They wanted a bright, accessible kitchen/diner and a new bathroom – all on a tight budget. We provided a full architectural service from feasibility through to completion, including lawful development approval, building regs, and site inspections.

A simple, honest project that delivered real value for the family.

Planning approved!

Cambria Street is a retrofit project in Bolton, transforming a detached house into two energy-efficient semis. We’ve reconfigured the layout, improved thermal performance with Corksol (saving on the cost of external insulation), and added solar panels + MVHR for comfort and carbon savings.

We’re now moving into the technical design phase - swipe to see what the client had to say (one of the most rewarding parts of the job!).

Exciting morning at the Turing Innovation Catalyst Manchester R&D Showcase at the The University of Manchester!

I had the chance to present what I’ve been building over the past few months: DesignXBuild, a platform that uses Computer Vision to analyse and quantify early-stage architectural drawings, generating instant insights on cost, embodied carbon, and performance.

We’re currently working towards an MVP, with a goal to help architects, builders, and developers make smarter decisions earlier in the design process - cutting delays, reducing carbon, and avoiding costly value engineering.

If you’re interested in testing the platform or want to find out more, feel free to get in touch.

Big thanks to the Turing Innovation team for their support and for hosting a fantastic event.
