41 years around the sun.
Last year I was 40 now I feel like I’m officially in my 40’s.
If I could sit down with my younger self for one conversation, I don’t think I’d talk about success first. I’d talk about peace.
About how much time we waste trying to become someone we think the world will approve of, instead of becoming someone we actually recognise in the mirror. It’s took me ages to realise that.
I’d tell my younger self that not everyone who walks into your life is meant to stay.
Some people are lessons disguised as friendships, relationships, or opportunities.
Don’t break yourself trying to keep people who are already halfway gone.
Stop rushing.
You are not behind.
Life is not a race with invisible checkpoints.
The timelines you compare yourself to are often illusions.
Most people are figuring it out as they go, even the ones who look certain.
Remind myself confidence is built quietly, even though you will come across full of it.
It comes from keeping promises to yourself, speaking kindly to yourself when nobody else does, and learning that failure is not proof you’re incapable — it’s proof you tried! And you will fail lots!
Protect your energy.
Not every argument deserves your voice.
Not every opinion deserves space in your mind.
It’s important to learn the difference between people who challenge you to grow and people who drain you just to feel powerful.
One day, the ordinary moments you barely noticed will become the memories you miss the most.
And please, don’t be so hard on yourself. You will outgrow versions of yourself many times.
You will make mistakes.
You will choose wrong sometimes.
But none of that makes you unworthy of love, success, or a fresh start.
Most importantly,
You do not need to have everything figured out.
Keep going. The person you’re becoming will thank you for not giving up.
