Last week we welcomed James to our studio for a week of work experience.

With support from Gabriel, who went above and beyond, James got stuck into the full design process - from initial sketches to learning Revit and producing a complete drawing pack for his own project.

He left with a professional set of GA plans, elevations, sections, setting-out plans, 3D views, and a presentation of materials and inspirations - a real achievement for just a week’s work.

A huge well done to James for all his hard work, and to Gabriel for making the experience such a valuable one.

Fantastic progress being made on our Lancaster Wharf project in Birmingham!

The glazing has now been fully installed, and the facade is nearing completion. The interiors to the lower floors are also well underway, with completion due two wards the end of this year.

This state-of-the-art facility, with its six floors of advanced equipment, direct-level access helipad, and RAPTOR Operating Theatre, is a vital asset in delivering 24/7 consultant-led care to trauma patients across Greater Manchester.

We are thrilled to announce that the PAMHS Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital has won the Art Installation of the Year Award at the Design in Mental Health Awards 2024!
 
In collaboration with GOSH Arts and artist Giles Round, the team transformed a disused ward into a functional, welcoming, and inspiring space for children, young people, and their families.

We found out that several of our team are scarily competitive as the afternoon went on and that building with Lego, is a messy job.

The materials chosen on our projects can dramatically change the outcome of any project.

The choice of materials does not only define the structural possibilities but also determines the character of the building and how all end users will experience the space.

Our team have recently undertaken several workshops as part of the new Withington Community Diagnostic Centre to ensure the materials fit the client’s specifications whilst also maximising the user experience, creating an environment that promotes healing and well-being, every material decision influences the functionality, durability, and emotional impact of a space.

The new state-of-the-art theatre complex at Clatterbridge Hospital is now operational, offering four new operating theatres which can now treat up to 6000 additional patients each year.
 
The theatre complex offers 4 Theatres and Recovery residing within a two-storey modular building.
 
In addition, it offers 12 first-stage recovery bays, ancillary spaces including clean/dirty utility rooms and stores, staff support spaces including a nurse base, write-up and emergency response areas.
 
“The opening of Cheshire and Merseyside Surgical Centre is fantastic news. There has been significant investment in these theatres, which are now providing quicker access to surgery and outpatient procedures for thousands of patients – reducing waiting lists, improving patient experience and, most importantly, improving people’s outcomes.”
