This year, me and my son Harrison are taking on the 5K Race for Life for Cancer Research UK, and we’re doing it with two very important reasons in our hearts.
We’re running in memory of my mum and dad, who were both taken from me and my sisters far too young. They were absolute warriors right to the very end strong, brave, and full of love but losing them has stayed with me every single day. Taking part in this run is my way of honouring their fight, remembering everything they meant to me, and showing just how proud I am to be their son.
We’re also running for Harrison’s grandad, who has been battling cancer for the past five years. He has beaten it not once, but twice, showing incredible strength. Sadly, it has come back again. After more operations, the cancer is still there, and now we're placing all our hope in chemotherapy, as there are no other treatment options left. His courage inspires us daily, and we want him to know that we are with him in this fight every step, every mile, every moment.
So this year, me and Harrison are running for them all.For the ones we’ve lost. For the one still fighting. For every family touched by cancer. And for hope because hope is what keeps us going.
Any donation, big or small, will mean the world to us. Every pound brings us closer to better treatments, better futures, and more time with the people we love.
