This week's project took me to Paddington for a full bathroom refurbishment. The job itself? 2 days. The travel? 10 hours. Because nothing says dedication like spending an extra 2 hours charging an electric van just to make sure the job gets done.

Lesson learned. The van is now retired from long-haul duties.

Using AM Clad 2.5mm hygienic sheets, I completed both the ceiling and walls, finished with 1-part trim and silicone. Tight turnaround, long days, but the result is seamless, impervious, and exactly what the client needed.

Winter is when cladding installs can go sideways if adhesive isn’t handled properly.
The key? Temperature control.

Most hygienic cladding adhesives perform best at 15–20°C — that’s where you get the right viscosity, bond strength, and cure rate.

When the tubs drop below that: ❄️ They thicken
❄️ Coverage reduces
❄️ Cure times increase
❄️ Bond strength suffers

At NextGenClad, we manage this by: 🔥 Storing adhesive at warm temperatures overnight
🔥 Keeping tubs off the floor and inside insulated boxes
🔥 Using small heaters or warm-air blowers to maintain working temps on site
🔥 Opening tubs only when needed
