Fasciato Architects Ltd

Fasciato Architects Ltd Award winning RIBA Chartered Architects and Interior Design Practice

Our philosophy is that good design should be attractive, sustainable, efficient, cost effective and enhance the environment. We are skilled in both building and interior design and also the design of the space around buildings. We specialise in new houses for individual clients, major refurbishments of existing houses, conservation and barn conversions, alteration of historic and listed buildings

and projects for housing developers. We are perhaps best known for our restaurants and bars, both locally and throughout Britain.

A lovely milestone reached on our Hale home renovation and extension project, RIBA Stages 0-2 complete.

We have presented our early design ideas to help a growing family make better use of their period home.

The house currently feels disconnected with rooms that do not flow or support the way the family lives. Our proposal brings clarity and connection back into the plan by rethinking the underused areas between the existing fragments. The result of the design is a home that offers space for different activities as well as a place for everyone to gather.

We’re on site in Hale and working through RIBA Stage 5, turning our detailed Stage 4 drawings into built work. This project stays within the existing footprint, so we’re making the most of what’s already here.

A key part of the design is retaining the original brickwork to its natural point and layering the new brick alongside it. We’re not trying to hide the building’s history. We’re allowing the old and new to sit together.

The client’s budget is tight, so every decision has to count. We’ve pushed the design as far as possible within those constraints, focusing on smart reuse and thoughtful detailing.

On site, we work closely with the builder to talk through each detail, check progress and make sure the design is delivered with care. It’s a collaborative approach that brings the drawings, and the ideas behind them, to life.

We’re restoring a distinctive 1960s home by Peter Womersley, a project we previously adapted and extended. This new phase centres on a full interior scheme: revised furniture layouts, fitted bookcases, and new finishes including timber flooring, lighting and window treatments.

Because the original mid‑century interiors were lost, our clients were keen to re‑establish the ethos of Womersley’s design. We’ve been studying his work across the UK, exploring his material sensibilities and his collaboration with textile designer Bernat Klein, whose richly textured fabrics defined many of his interiors.

Working closely with our clients, we’ve chosen a dark timber floor from the Ted Todd Design Centre, paired with light oak for the bookcases to balance the richness of the new finishes. A low freestanding bookcase behind a dark velvet sectional will introduce a gentle subdivision within the open plan.

More progress on our Wilmslow house renovation and extension project.

Downstairs, the new hallway is beginning to show its full potential, creating a stronger flow through the home, while the snug off the kitchen is taking shape as we carefully rework the old garage footprint to make the most of what’s already there.

Upstairs, a new window opening is forming — one that will frame the expansive, green garden to the rear. A simple move that will bring in light, views and a real sense of calm to the first floor.

Thoughtful reuse, better connections, and spaces that feel great to live in.

We visited Helios by Luke Jerram at Victoria Baths recently and were completely taken by it. The way that glowing circular form sits so confidently within the linear, angular geometry of the building is just beautiful — a perfect dialogue between object and architecture.

It’s left us hoping one of our clients is ready for a bold circular pendant moment of their own.

Another Wilmslow home transformed.
The renovation and extension are now complete, and the final stage—external landscaping—is underway. It’s already looking fantastic, and once the sun makes an appearance, we’ll share the full set of finished photos.

A lovely project to be part of.

Removing the Chimney for a More Generous Kitchen

🏡 Making space where it matters most.
Taking out the chimney breast has opened up the footprint dramatically, allowing for a larger, more functional kitchen—another top priority for the client.

In older properties, these strategic interventions can completely reshape how a home works day to day, while still respecting the building’s heritage.

A Curved Corner That Changes Everything

🌿 A detail that brings softness and delight.
This new wall could easily have been a simple right angle—but we look for opportunities in every project, no matter the scale. Introducing a curved corner adds character, improves movement through the space, and creates a moment of calm within the home.

The client absolutely loves this detail, and so do we. Thoughtful design is never accidental.

Our visit is one way we keep up to date with developments the hospitality industry and see things from the side of people who work in and run bars and restaurants.

We also design restaurants and bars and live the speed of these projects.

Manchester Central is a great space too!

A glimpse of a live project in Hale, where extension and renovation works are moving forward with a brilliant client and build team.
What you see here isn’t just construction progress — it’s how our technical information guides the build, helping everyone understand how the design transforms the existing structure and how each detail comes together.
Being on site means we can ensure that information is interpreted correctly and adapted intelligently when the unexpected arises. This hands‑on, detail‑driven approach protects quality, reduces risk, and keeps your project moving with confidence.
