Our biggest decking project to date!
Decking Project Overview
Recently, I undertook a significant decking project to enhance the outdoor space of my clients garden. The project involved transforming an existing pond area and garden into a functional and aesthetically pleasing deck, complemented by a pre-built garden room.
Step 1: Assessment and Planning
The project commenced with an assessment of the old pond area, which had become visually unappealing. I envisioned a deck that would provide a tranquil space for entertainment and leisure. Following measurements of the area, I developed a design plan that included the dimensions of the deck and the positioning of the garden room.
Step 2: Pond Removal
The initial major task was to safely fill in the old pond. I removed any remaining pond structure, including rocks and debris. Subsequently, I filled the area with soil and compacted it to establish a solid foundation.
Step 3: Deck Framework Construction
Once the pond area was prepared, I commenced constructing the deck framework. I utilised pressure-treated timber for durability and resistance against weather conditions. I meticulously measured and cut the wood to ensure that the framework was both level and robust.
Step 4: Decking Installation
With the framework completed, I laid down the decking boards, securing each one with screws and arranging them in a framed edge pattern for visual appeal.
Step 5: Garden Room Er****on
As the decking neared completion, I focused on the pre-built garden room. I meticulously adhered to the assembly instructions, ensuring that the structure was level and secure. I positioned the garden room at the corner of the deck to provide scenic views of the garden.
Step 6: Final Touches
To conclude the project, I installed railings around the deck for safety and aesthetics. Additionally, I incorporated lighting fixtures to create an inviting ambiance.
Conclusion
This decking project not only replaced an unused pond but transformed the space into an engaging outdoor area, complete with a garden room that serves as a tranquil office space. I am delighted with the outcome and eagerly anticipate embarking on the next project.
