Lost your window key? Need to open the window?
The trouble with window keys are they are small and easy to lose. They are however an essential part of the window; allowing you to lock and unlock it. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, however all is not lost if you misplace one.
Often we all reach for Google to look for a solution and there are many videos on how to open a locked window without a key. However, why would you not ask a professional who has the right tools for the job?
Don’t panic either - you don’t have to replace the window - as some of my customers have thought!
Locksmiths have extensive training and experience, gained over many years which enables them to open locks without breaking or causing damage.
UPVC windows come in all shapes and mechanisms. When the windows are mass produced, when the window is built it comes with pre-cut keys from the factory. There are approximately 100 types of pre-cut keys in the UK including Avocet, Chubb, Basta.

It comes to something when you spend all day sorting out other people's locks to come home and find your own front door lock fails. 🫣

Lucky I know a good locksmith 😂 and it's only the cog that's slipping!
