Weschenfelder Weschenfelder Direct are specialists in Sausage and Charcuterie ingredients and equipment.

We supply everything you need to make your own sausages, burgers, salami & bacon. Weschenfelder Direct have been in the sausage making business since 1921. Today the online business is run by Tim, His two sons Rob & Nic Weschenfelder and family friend Kate. Rob and Nic are now the fifth generation since Ludwig Weschenfelder arrived in the UK from Nuremberg in 1898. Ludwig originally found work as

a butchers apprentice in Middlesbrough, working with his uncle, a German pork butcher. In 1905 he married Lisa Schumm, another German immigrant, also working in a German pork butchers shop with her brother! Ludwig moved into the sausage casing business before the First World War using skills handed down from his German family. He was interned on the Isle of Man during the war and on his release returned to Middlesbrough in 1921 to put the fledgling business on a firm footing.
