Did you know we grow many of our perennial plants from seed collected right here in our own garden.

Each year in late summer and autumn, we carefully gather seeds and nurture them through to the following spring. From those tiny beginnings, they grow into the healthy young plants we offer for sale.

We specialise in young plants because they establish more easily and adapt better to your garden environment.

We are now pretty much fully booked until May, but we are taking bookings for work from May onwards and the diary is starting to fill up.

If you’re thinking about getting your garden sorted for late spring and summer, now is a good time to get booked in.

Services include:

• W**ding & border care
• Planting & general maintenance

🌿 Quick update from Orchards Garden & Planting Services

Due to a small number of repeat offenders who seem to enjoy hiding from invoices 😅, we’ve had to change our payment terms.

From now on, payment will be due on the same day the work is completed, instead of the previous 7 days.

A big thank you to all our brilliant customers who already pay promptly — we really appreciate you! 🙌

This just means less time chasing payments and more time making gardens look great 🌳

Today we cut back our own standard hydrangeas in the garden – this is one of three we have, the beautiful ‘Limelight’ variety.

At this time of year they look like little more than a few bare twigs, but in just a few months they’ll transform into something truly spectacular.

Pruning them back like this is essential. It helps the plant keep its shape and encourages strong, vigorous new growth – which is what produces those stunning Limelight pom-pom blooms later in the season.

It’s always amazing to see the transformation from now to summer.

These are now around 10 years old.
