Another week, another boiler install completed by the team 🔧🔥

This time we replaced an old Vaillant combi boiler that had several installation issues and was also undersized for the property’s hot water demand. As a result, the system struggled to keep up with the required flow rate.

We installed a new Ideal Logic C30 Max, carried out remedial work on the system, and upgraded the installation to bring everything up to current standards.

The customer now has reliable heating and hot water again — along with the peace of mind of a 10-year warranty.

Pulled this Glow-worm HXI apart to replace the rear flue box behind the heat exchanger. The job required a full system drain down and complete boiler strip to access and replace the faulty component. Boiler rebuilt, system refilled and vented, and fully tested.

This fault was identified during a recent gas safety inspection, where products of combustion were found inside the appliance casing — a potentially dangerous situation that could have led to carbon monoxide risk if left unresolved.

This is exactly why annual servicing and safety checks are so important. Hidden faults aren’t always visible to homeowners, but they can pose serious risks.

Thankfully caught this one in time and now running safely!!

Brass Stop Tap Replacement – Dezincification Issue Resolved

We replaced a corroded brass stop tap this morning that was showing early signs of failing due to dezincification.

Dezincification is a form of corrosion where the zinc is selectively leached from brass, leaving behind a weakened, porous copper structure. Over time, this can cause:

• Pink/red discoloration
• Surface pitting
• Structural weakening
• Leaks and eventual failure

To prevent the issue from recurring, we installed a DZR (Dezincification Resistant) lever valve. DZR fittings are specifically manufactured to resist zinc leaching, making them far more durable and reliable in aggressive water conditions.

🔥 Another boiler over the line this week! 🔥

This one was for one of our private landlords after we discovered a gas leak on the existing boiler at their rental property.

The appliance was classified as dangerous and had to be reported on the landlord’s gas safety certificate. From there, we arranged a fast turnaround to get the situation resolved safely and properly.

We removed the old, inefficient Baxi and installed a brand new A-rated Ideal Logic MAX, complete with a 10-year warranty for long-term peace of mind.

And just like that… January is done! 👋

We’ve been a little quiet on here as we’ve been busy keeping our customers’ heating and hot water running 🔧🔥 — even putting in a Saturday shift today to get one home back up and running.

Unfortunately, a previous repair by a third party has failed, causing serious damage to an 8-year-old boiler and forcing an early replacement. A reminder that quality workmanship matters.
