Amazingly this Rayburn was still running, however the CO alarm went off prompting the client to give us a call - this was incredibly dangerous as the chimney was blocked, and consequently emmitting Carbon Monoxide into the room.
Always have your chimney swept and appliance serviced in the Spring ready for next Winter.

The Sun is out! Time to sweep your chimney!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️
Ensure that you get your chimney swept before starting to use it again in the new Winter season. Last season was very long, and many fires were used much more than usual due to people working from home, so it is critical that this is done.
Give us a call on 01872 510080 to book in and avoid risking a chimney fire, or a choked chimney (as seen in the pics) which blocks the flue and creates a high risk of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

We were booked to sweep a woodburner in a house, but as we walked through we noticed this access hatch to a flue, showing signs of blockage. With permission we investigated what turned out to be the chimney servicing an oil fired boiler. This was completely choked with nesting material, and we eventually removed a bin bag of nesting material. These people had a very lucky escape as this will cause deadly levels of Carbon Monoxide.

We are continuing to operate through the current lockdown as it is essential that chimneys be swept to prevent chimney fires.

We are delighted to announce that we will be reopening fully from Monday 1st June. Working to strict distancing protocols, we can come to sweep your chimney, carry out repairs and fit cowls & bird guards. If you have a metal liner in your chimney, it is essential that your chimney is swept now, end of season, to remove the corrosive soot for the dormant Summer period.
