Just to stop the Moffat rumour mill going into overdrive, R Matchett & Son is not shutting down. Neil & Yvonne are planning to take a step back after Christmas but will still be a big part of the company. You will still see Neil out working with Murray. Gav & Eun will start to take a bigger role in the day to day running of Matchetts. T6 and Matchetts will work closer together with T6 already doing a lot of electrical work around the town. Please be assured you will still see the same faces and vans around the town.

It’s been brought to our attention that there is company/person going around saying they are associated with R Matchett & Son and taking over jobs for us, we can confirm this is not the case.
We are a family ran business approved by SELECT carrying out domestic and commercial installations throughout Dumfries & Galloway.
If anybody is contacted buy a company claiming they are, please get in contact with the office so we can pass the information on to trading standards.

R. Matchett & Son and T6 Fire & Security have taken the decision not to re-open as a retail shop, instead we will reopen as an office only from the 7th September at our new premises at Holm Industrial Estate Moffat.
Both telephone numbers will remain the same.
Our office will be manned Monday to Friday 9am-3pm. When the office Is not manned please leave a message and we will get back to you ASAP.
Our emergency numbers will remain the same for both companies.
We would like to thank you for your patience and your custom through this difficult time.

Weather is looking to get worse today, be careful and don't travel unless necessary.

Heavy snow on M74 in the Moffat (J15) area, with numerous jackknifed trucks and closed lanes. Snow is expected to continue throughout the day and police are advising you not to travel.
