I'm not at Chelsea this year but seeing all the wonderful coverage is very inspiring and reminded me that I have some pictures I didn't post last year.
I'm in this vibrant garden - Tackle HIV - with its designer and Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas and built by JJH Landscapes, this stunning garden sponsored by ViiV Healthcare celebrates 40 years of medical advancements in HIV treatment. Today, people living with HIV on effective treatment can live long, fulfilling lives without limitations.
Here is a look at the beautiful symbolism woven into the design:
The Structure: Hexagonal paving reflects the chemical structures found in HIV medications.
The Message: Uplifting words are etched throughout, including "Undetectable = Untransmittable" on a bench.
The Tribute: Statues by Ralph Bourdoukan honor lives lost and remind us of the stigma that sadly still persists.
The Planting: Vibrant Eschscholzia californica ‘Red Chief’ blooms echo the iconic red ribbon of HIV awareness.
The garden's legacy lives on! It is being permanently relocated to the Calthorpe Community Gardens in Kings Cross, London, for staff, volunteers, and the community to enjoy. 🌿✨
