We are seeing a massive spike in the number of mk7 (2006-2013) transit vans being stolen on the Wirral at the moment. Thieves can open and start the van without keys, then drive it away. Please be vigilant. Aftermarket immobilizers are available from us to help prevent this attack. We also supply and fit high security door locks to stop the ‘pick’ attack they are currently using.

Over the past 7 days we have seen a significant increase in the number of residential burglaries on the Wirral. The most affected areas are those of Tranmere and Prenton and as a result, a number of cars have been stolen. The majority of these burglaries occurred overnight and entrance was gained via the front door, a number of which were either left completely unlocked or the dead lock not used. Additionally, vehicle keys have been left near to or in view of the front door, making it much easier for the vehicle to be stolen and the house to be targeted.
We are working hard to address this increase by deploying additional specialist resources in the area, conducting high visibility checks of front doors (operation Handle) and targeting known potential offenders.

Keep your car keys safe!

'E' pursued the White BMW after it was stolen from the Widnes area via a hook & cane method yesterday. Pursuit continued into the Speke area where the offenders decamped. Vehicle recovered and will be returned to rightful owner. Enquiries ongoing.
Don't put your keys near your door that could be accessible from your letterbox.

A number of car key 'fishing' incidents have been reported this last week in the Wirral
Area. Please make sure your car keys are in a safe place, not near the door, you would be surprised how good these criminals are at hooking your keys, from locations people thought was safe. Keep them hidden, away from the door, ideally upstairs with you.
