I recently fitted windows to Blueshell Mussels new workshop. This will allow a lot of natural light into the workshop, making it much brighter.

Work has resumed at the Manse in Mossbank to get the final stages done before it goes on the market.

I have been ripping the rest of the old windows out and fitting the new ones.

Unsurprisingly, again I needed to replace the lintels as they were totally rotten. I used 6x6 treated timbers for this.

The new windows are not the easiest to get up the stairs but got there in the end!

The Manse in Watsness is coming along well.

I've done some more demolition on the final two rooms, and found some interesting writing on the wall telling us the wall was built on August 7th 1902!

I now have to prep the rooms for the kit and insulation. I have already insulated the floors, so putting down the floorboards is the next job.

There was some strange events along the way, as a delivery driver put the bolt on the front door so we were locked in! I had to climb out of the new window and it’s safe to say I'm not built for small spaces 😂

Well after another mental year, that’s a rap from me for 2022!

This is the first festive season that I'm not working in between Christmas & New Year, so it’s time to relax and recharge ready for 2023.

I wish all my clients, past & present, a very merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.

See you all in 2023 🎉

I have been quiet for a while but I have been working away with the Manse in Watsness.

Two upstairs bedrooms have been taped, filled and painted.

The upstairs bathroom has had the new floorboards fitted, and is now ready for studs and plumbing.

The main bedroom downstairs is coming on well with the studwork in place. We're waiting for the electricians to come and do the wiring before the insulation and plaster board can be done.

There is still some work to be done around the passage to the kitchen area m.

All the windows except two have been fitted. The weather has stalled the last two.

It’s starting to take shape now, and is really starting to look great.

The old plastic door at Tagon Stores was on it’s last legs, so we decided it was time to change it out for a new, solid hardwood door.

The door was made by Bulter & Mulhern, and we think they've made an excellent job of it.

Time flies when you're having fun!

I've now been self-employed for three years - it's been mental, but excellent.

Thank you to all my clients, past & present, who have kept me so busy doing something I love.

Here’s to plenty more busy years ahead 🔨

The windows and doors have arrived at Watsness, so it is full steam ahead to get them in! As you can see, the front door had definitely seen better days 🙈

The doors and windows were made by Bulter & Mulhern, and are sash and case lookalikes, apart from the two in the porch.

More updates to follow...
