There are some down sides....

It expands and contracts in the warm and cold. This is the nature of soy wax.
If the temperature is really hot it can cause your candle to "sweat" which is basically where the fragrance oil is forced out of the wax.

There are other causes but I want to talk about this heat today 🥵

I take pride in every candle that leaves my workshop and to avoid your candles arriving in a less than pristine condition I will not be posting any orders out until the temperature drops (looking like Saturday at the mo).

I don't want your orders to be sitting, sweating in an Evri van !

I will still be delivering and I'm open for collection all week.

PS if your candle does sweat don't worry , just wipe the top with some kitchen roll and light as normal. The oil will also reabsorb when the candle cools down.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

This doesn't apply to reed diffusers !

I'm sick of having to think up a hook, (maybe that should be my hook !) whether that's my failing but it sometimes feels like the only way to get lots of views is to add something shocking or outrageous and there are times when I just want to show you what I actually make and why !

I'm an ex police detective of a certain age that began making candles as a way to de-stress from work and help with my anxiety which began with perimenopause. That was 6 years ago now and I'm no longer in the police and 2 years menopausal but still battling the symptoms one of which is brain fog.

Yep those days where you struggle to concentrate, forget words, names, what you were looking for.... Infuriating isn't it. This is the reason behind "focus" our essential oil blend candle which contains 4 x oils which all help to increase your focus and clear your mind.

Now let's see how many views, likes, shares I get without a hook?? 🙏🙏

In 2021 I was making candles under a different name as a hobby and stress release from a stressful job and perimenopause.
I was making candles in my kitchen, loving the process, the fragrances and the escape into doing something creative.
I'd post my makes on social media and just before Christmas I was contacted by Alex from in Nantwich who asked if I would make them some candles that they could gift to their customers.

Obviously I said yes and that one collaboration led to me then being asked to stock the lovely Reflections Cards & Gifts in Nantwich and that was when Nantwich Candle Co. was born.

So this morning whilst labelling Clough's most recent orders it was a little emotional as we are still working together, Reflections are still my biggest stockist, i have my own workshop as I soon outgrew the kitchen and revenue has increased almost 5 times on this time last year 🥰 thanks to my loyal customer base.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey 🙏

Candle & melt making workshop.
I am holding another workshop on Sunday 5th July 1 - 3pm where you will learn how to make your own soy wax candle with personalised label and pot of botanical wax melts.

You will have a choice of around 10 x fragrances to choose from.

Prosecco, hot drinks and cake included.

If you love candles and would like a couple of hours being creative in this is for you.

It will be held in Imagination Lane party room

Honestly some weeks I make so many bloopers! Brain fog is a real thing ! Good job I have a candle to help with that !

These days I try not to stress about my mistakes, in fact my hubby and I usually have a good laugh about them, he's like "now what have you done?" 😂

Lately I've driven off from a petrol station with the cap still hanging open, I've turned up at a customers house to deliver an order only to realise I hadn't put it in the car - this happened TWICE in a week !!

Then the incorrect glass order - what next I wonder 🤔

Oh I do love a market day in Nantwich. I love seeing my customers, catching up with them and having a laugh. It's also amazing how many people I meet from the North East, I can spot the accent a mile off 🤣

Footfall has been a bit quieter lately at the markets, you can never really judge how busy they're going to be and I know that people are worried about rising bills etc and this is what makes every sale so appreciated 🥰, so a massive thank you to everyone that purchased this week 🙏

My next market is the Farmers Market on Saturday 27th June. Hope to see you there.
