A little reminder that most people don’t have perfect gardens every year.

So if your garden isn’t looking magazine-worthy right now, don’t worry. You’re still a gardener. 💚

A great garden usually comes down to two things: time or money.

Time to propagate, nurture and grow.

Or money to buy established plants and create an instant effect.

Both can create something beautiful.

But in your opinion, what are the real foundations of a great garden? 🌿

Can I inspire you to plant something beautiful?

This planter is packed with Salvia nemorosa, argyranthemums, achilleas and verbena.

Layering perennials into containers is one of the easiest ways to create colour, movement and pollinator-friendly planting all summer long.

And the best bit? Next year, some of these will move into the border to grow on even bigger and better.

The plants are asking for a sophisticated irrigation system.

They’re getting me in Crocs with a hosepipe instead,
It’s a daily game of “who wilts first, me or the plants?

A new men’s group at Growing Health Community Garden Nantwich xx

Hi! I'm Frosty (my real name is Lee but nobody calls me that). I moved to Nantwich with my wife 5 years ago after looking for a better quality of life and a greater sense of community in a gorgeous town. Somehow, I still haven't found the time or space for that community. I'm in my early 50s and between working away 3 days a week and the other 2 from home it hasn't left much space for meaningful social connection. I have the feeling I'm not the only man experiencing this but its hard to find spaces to meet other men or find a reason to get out and do it- so, along with Andreas (his post is coming) we are starting up a new group at the garden and it would be great to have you come along. Our first ever Men's Group starts next Wednesday 20th May 6-7.30pm (check out of the event page) . I'm not much of a gardener, nor am I a whizz with woodwork so please don't let that put you off. See you there?

Every pot is a surprise.
Every leaf is a guessing game.
Is it pink? Deep purple? That one that sulked all summer then stole the show in September?

Label your plants,
You’ll thank yourself later.

Anyway… welcome to Salvia Roulette
