As our team set out to unblock driveways, roads and more…. Please stick to essential journeys only. This is successional wet then windy weather, storm after storm, is bad news for trees. Please be careful, sensible and safe. 🌳💚🤞🏻 on a more positive note, you have to wonder at the natural engineering around us when the wind is like this. Dissipation of wind force, stabilisation, just wow! 👌🏻

Edit: Franklin! is here, it’s a bit windy. Trees that may have been partially damaged in Eunice will be struggling against this wind. I’m a qualified tree risk assessor, I can estimate only foreseeable harm presented by trees. So while that can cover a landowners duty of care, it does not cover unforeseeable tree failure and it does not cover your duty of care to yourself. Stay away from wooded areas, don’t shelter under trees and don’t take unnecessary risks or journeys until the storm is over. And once it’s over, keep your eyes open, trees can be damaged in high winds and fail a few days later. Look after yourselves and those around you. The likelihood of being killed by a tree is very low, let’s keep it that way. Charlie 🌳💚

The health benefits of being out in the woods, gardening, or just enjoying nature around us are well known. But we can create impacts on these areas if we don't consider our own actions in doing so. Wash your boots, paws and bikes. Buy plant and compost material responsibly. Think ahead. "What are you doing to help?" I hear you say... Among our processes we carry boot wash equipment to survey sites, sterilise our cutting equipment, clean our vehicles, PPE and equipment thoroughly on a regular basis to prevent biotic factors spreading from site to site, we use to update the Forest Research on any reportable diseases we find in our area and follow their guidelines on how to deal with reportable diseases and infected materials. We've got it covered.
