Posted • Another sunny Sunday and reminiscing on our road trip last week.
Our last stop was Malham and a stay at the fabulous . This is fast becoming our favourite place to stay and is deserving of a post of it’s own.
Arriving in Malham on a mad busy bank holiday weekend, we turned into the hotel car park where parking is reserved for hotel guests and immediately relaxed. Walking across the little stone bridge over the river to the hotel it was a truly welcoming sight. The river terrace tables were busy with guests drinking and eating, the sun was shining and the staff were welcoming, friendly and calm.
It’s such a lovely hotel in a fabulous setting, there was a holiday buzz about the place yet it was an oasis of calm against the busyness of Malham.
We stayed in the gorgeous Wharf room with views over the river and terrace. Looking out of the window, the sight of an empty terrace table was too inviting to stay in the room.
Pre dinner drinks on the terrace in the sun, overlooking the river was just perfect. We had the best of both worlds for dinner, a table inside but with the doors wide open looking out onto the terrace. Fabulous food, a bottle of chilled rose and a great service. The staff are warm and friendly, checking if we needed the doors closing as the evening drew on and chatty but not intrusive. We were the last guests to leave the restaurant, reluctant to end the night, but we weren’t rushed to leave.
Breakfast the next morning was a real treat. Sitting on the terrace in the early morning sun, eating a fabulous breakfast and planning the day’s walk, we were already wishing we had booked a second night.
Beck Hall is a perfect hotel in a perfect setting, surrounded by gorgeous countryside and walks. We cannot wait to be back 🥰
