Still such a favourite in this house. This will be 10 years old in April, and it’s still in perfect condition despite being loved and played with by 5 children through the years.
Sheep and pigs have somehow given way to a gorilla, an elephant and a T Rex, and the tractor has been replaced with a Batmobile, but it’s still just as loved, and played with every day.
It’s so practical too; all the animals are stored safely away inside it when not being played with, and it fits nicely under most sofas! It’s hand painted and then varnished for durability - it’s seen plenty of drink spillages over the years but just wipes clean.
There’s plenty of themes you could choose from; farm, zoo, fire station, dinosaur park, garden, park, superheroes, seaside, town (could even be your own town with familiar landmarks) or anything else you could think of. All can be personalised.
I know that this one, ten years on from being made, will become a family heirloom and in a few (many!) years time my own grandchildren will have their turn with it.
In an age of technology, real imaginative play is becoming harder to promote with children, so a bespoke, personalised toy can really capture their attention.
