Coming out of 'No Mow May' one of our commercial clients was keen for us to cut their long grass.

For this, we used the Ventrac and attached the flail to bring the height of the grass down, but leaving some of the growth there for now before returning in July with the lawn cutter module.

Grasscutting will become really busy over the next few months as the UK summer humidity provides the perfect environment for growth, with the moisture enriching the soil, meaning the grass is better able to absorb the vital nutrients it needs to flourish.

Ash dieback, a devastating disease caused by the fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, has been wreaking havoc on ash trees across Europe.

The impact of this disease has steadily increased, threatening the beauty and biodiversity of our beloved green spaces.

Ash dieback, also known as Chalara, affects ash trees by causing leaf loss, crown dieback, and bark lesions. The disease spreads rapidly, and infected trees often succumb within a few years. This poses a significant threat to the local ecosystem, as ash trees are a vital component of our woodlands and urban landscapes.

And so, we were in Tenby tending to a number of trees on a busy main road. These trees were varying in their severity of the disease and so we cut back and lowered the tree height to decrease any danger to road users and the general public.

Sadly, there is no known cure for Ash dieback and even the largest trees will last no longer than ten years once infected.

The work we undertook in Tenby will lessen the risk of spread considerably, therefore assisting in the preservation of the biodiversity of the local woodlands.

Another busy week for EnviroWorx, including the removal of five trees due to Ash dieback in Felin Foel.

Dieback is a significant issue across the UK, caused by a highly destructive fungal disease affecting ash trees. It leads to leaf loss and canopy decline, eventually attacking the root collar of the tree, creating a falling risk.

As the third most common tree in the UK, ash trees are a valuable habitat for over 1,000 species of wildlife, including mammals, birds, invertebrates, plants, and lichens.

Currently, there is no cure for dieback disease. It is crucial to identify it early so that trees can be pruned to aid longer-term survival or the reproduction of healthy trees.

If the disease has spread, it is important to fell the trees to minimize the spread, prevent damage to buildings and infrastructure, and avoid injury or death from falling trees.

The row of trees removed last week were overhanging buildings and posed a falling danger. We felled the trees, collected the larger branches and trunk for recycling, and chipped the smaller branches.

In the stunning town of Newquay and just adjacent to the coastal path, the team undertook a pedestrian bridge replacement project.

The existing bridge had become unsafe due to age and a lack of care and attention.

We removed the whole of the wooden bridge, prepared the ground and built the new structure. A steel frame and recycled composite will mean a much longer life cycle for the bridge with very little upkeep in comparison to timber.

Having removed the former timber bridge, we recycled the remainder into chippings to be used in biomass as a renewable energy source by a specialist organisation based in Cardigan.

We are still really busy and enjoying the innumerable challenges that our varied work brings – especially in this wonderful Welsh weather!

At Enviroworx, we are all about reinvesting into the business to improve our services, whether this be through the team, our approach or in this case into the equipment we use. Our tracked MEWP is one of our favourite pieces of equipment and is vital to our work. The photographs show this fabulous bit of kit in action for clients in Saundersfoot, St Florence and Aberbanc.

The first pictures show the team and equipment in action as we reshaped and trimmed hedging in Saundersfoot, because of the flexibility and range of the MEWP, it means the team are not having to move equipment to reach all parts of the hedge, saving time, energy and more importantly money for the client.

The MEWP was also in action at St Florence and Aberbanc as we undertook work to combat ash dieback. Ash dieback is a huge problem at this time throughout Wales and the UK in general and should be managed efficiently and with haste once it has been identified as it can create problems on a much larger scale if not dealt with.

Again, the pictures really show how amazing this equipment is, giving us safety at great height and enabling Enviroworx to tackle the most challenging undertakings!

These investments increase our expertise, and reinforce our ambition to be the go to land management specialists and arboriculturalists in West Wales and beyond.

The team were in Llandovery undertaking a sizeable hydroseeding project in a difficult location, that blends the site back into the natural surroundings.

This project was a real return to ‘hands on’ work as most stages were completed by the physical labours of the team!

We started by strimming down the site; then the process of ‘destoning’ began which was ostensibly removing the accumulated rocks, stones and pebbles (by hand!) to give us the best possible platform to continue.

As if enough sweat hadn’t been raised at this point, we then imported 120 tons of high grade top soil at a 50 ml layer and then raked it evenly in preparation for the easiest and most satisfying part of the job!

Finishing off the work, we sprayed a feed and mulch mix hydroseed to the site. This hydroseed mixture retains moisture and adds in rich nutrients to the ground, helps to reduce w**d growth and protecting the ground from sun and wind damage.

The result is a slow growing grass that is easy to maintain, giving good ground stabilisation and protection. Hard work but worth it for the results! (Check it out in the video below)

We were near Carmarthen at a stunning location to cut back vegetation in preparation for a large tree planting scheme.

The Greenclimber Robot Flail was more than capable of dealing with this tough undulating landscape with the capability for fast efficient and challenging cutting on up to 60 degree slopes.

The machine cuts back the vegetation, creating perfect mulch to add nutrients back into the soil ready for tree planting.

The team really enjoyed this one and the end results were fantastic!
