Overview: We are a family-owned business specialising in bespoke curtains, Roman blinds, and soft furnishings, seeking a skilled and dedicated Sewing Machinist to join our close-knit team. ⭐️Responsibilities:
💜sew fabrics to create custom curtains, blinds, and other soft furnishings.
💜Operate various sewing machines, including walking foot machines, overlockers, and blind hemming machines, to ensure precise and durable stitching.
💜Assemble and finish products according to design specifications and quality standards.
💜Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet the company’s high standards of craftsmanship.
💜Make necessary adjustments and repairs to products as needed.
💜Select appropriate fabrics and materials based on project requirements.
💜Handle and store fabrics carefully to prevent damage and maintain inventory.
💜Work closely with the design and production team to achieve seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
💜Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team and ensure smooth operation of the workshop.
👀Required Skills:
⚫️Experience with needle feed machines (Essential)
⚫️Experience with overlocking machines (Essential)
⚫️Experience with blind hemming machines (Not Essential but is desirable)
⚫️Experience with walking foot machines (Not Essential but is desirable)
⚫️Strong understanding of sewing techniques and fabric properties.
⚫️Keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to design specifications.
⚫️Ability to spot and correct errors during the sewing process.
⚫️Efficient in managing time to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
⚫️Ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
⚫️Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
⚫️Willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
⚫️Previous experience as a sewing machinist, particularly in the production of curtains, blinds, and soft furnishings, is highly desirable.
⚫️Familiarity with working in a family-run business or small team is a plus.
