❄️To all of our customers❄️
Due to the weather conditions and ongoing low temperatures we are experiencing extremely high call volumes with boiler faults.
A common fault in the current weather conditions is a frozen condensate pipe. We have included some useful information below that may help customers solve this issue and avoid a call out charge especially during times where bills are constantly rising.
❗️Error Codes To Look Out For❗️
Vaillant Boilers - F28
Ideal Boilers - L2 or F2
Baxi Boilers - E113
Vokera Boilers - 92, 93, 95, A01 or 10
If your boiler is showing any of the above error codes this could be due to a frozen condensate pipe, if your boiler is not listed above and is showing an error of ‘flame ignition lockout’ this could also be due to a frozen condensate pipe.
✔️Rectifying The Fault✔️
Before starting please turn off the boiler at it’s dedicated switch.
The condensate pipe is generally a white plastic pipe that can be traced from the bottom of the boiler that generally terminates externally to a drain or soil pipe outside of the property, if yours terminates internally to a sink waste or soil pipe ect you can rule out a frozen condensate pipe. The condensate pipe is terminated internally on 95% of the boilers we install so this should not be an issue. Once this pipe is identified hot water from the kettle can be poured over the pipe until thawed, another solution would be to heat wrap the pipe in hot towels or used a hot water bottle to defrost the pipe.
❌PLEASE DO NOT USE BOILING HOT WATER AND BE AWARE OF ANY ICE ON THE GROUND THAT MAY FORM ONCE WATER IS POURED❌
If any error codes are still present after the boiler is turned back on you may need to reset the boiler.
We hope this information is useful and can help with any unnecessary call out charges 🎅🏻
