Think you need a big vegetable patch to grow your own? Think again. 🌱

Courgettes are one of the most rewarding crops for small spaces. A single healthy plant can produce plenty of delicious courgettes throughout the summer, making them perfect for pots, patios and compact gardens.

☀️ Give them a sunny spot.
💧 Keep the compost consistently moist.
🌼 Pick the fruits regularly to encourage even more to grow.

You don't need a huge garden to enjoy homegrown harvests – just one pot can be enough to get started.

Are you growing courgettes this year? 💚

Your plants might be thirsty... but watering them in the middle of the day could be wasting it.

When the sun is at its hottest:
☀️ Water evaporates from the soil surface faster.
💨 More moisture is lost before it can soak down to the roots.
🌱 Which means your plants don't get the deep drink they really need.

Instead, water first thing in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler. More of the water reaches the roots where it's needed most.

Your plants will thank you for it. 🌿

Send this to a friend who always reaches for the watering can at lunchtime!

Rhubarb is one of the easiest perennial crops you can grow. Plant a crown once and, with a little care, it will reward you with delicious harvests for years to come.

Whether it's a classic rhubarb crumble, homemade jam or a tangy compote, this reliable favourite earns its place in every garden.

🌱 Plant in a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil.
💧 Keep it well watered while it establishes.
🪴 No garden, no problem. It will grow in a container.

What's your favourite way to use homegrown rhubarb? 🥧

☀️ When a heatwave hits, it's the perfect excuse to put down your trowel and pick up a nice cold drink.

Look after yourself as well as your garden. Gardening can wait until the weather is cooler.

If you've got trays of seedlings or young plants ready to go, keep them somewhere cool and shaded until the heat passes. Those already growing in beds and borders will appreciate a little extra protection with shade netting, fleece or even a simple sheet supported by canes.

Rather than gardening through the hottest part of the day, focus on the essentials. Water early in the morning or later in the evening and give containers a good soak.

The garden isn't going anywhere. Slow down, take a break in the shade and enjoy the sunshine. Gardening should always bring you joy. 💚

Too tired. Too late. Too unsure. Too busy.

We hear this a lot... and we understand it.

But gardening doesn’t ask you to be perfect. It just asks you to begin.

With one seed.
One pot.
One quiet moment outside.

And before you know it, something starts to grow.

Everyone can grow something.

What do you think?

The tomatoes are stressed!

Our trial field tomatoes have taken a real hit after the recent hailstorm. It's a reminder that even with the best planning and care, the weather can have the final say.

At our trial field, we grow and assess hundreds of varieties in real-world conditions, helping us understand how they perform through everything the British weather throws at them. From sunshine to storms, every season teaches us something new.

We'll continue to monitor these plants over the coming weeks and see how they recover. Nature is resilient, and sometimes the biggest lessons come from the toughest conditions.

Have your tomatoes been affected by the recent weather? Let us know how they're getting on in the comments. 👇
