We’ve had a few calls already re water issues to some of our customers. It’s a burst mains on St.Johns Avenue and looks like it might take some time to repair.

Some how it’s May already! We’ve been crazy busy finishing off a massive project (pictures and post to follow on that one) but we thought we’d mention oftec. A lot is said about the importance of gas safe but oil safety is just as important.

With the rising cost of oil a cracked tank or leak would cost so much, and that’s before the environmental clean up.

We’re proud to be oftec registered, we can service and repair or replace oil boilers as well as replace oil tanks.

Trust the triangle… the gas safe register is there for people to check the engineers coming into their homes are qualified. As a gas safe company we regularly take test and have inspections to keep up with any change in regulations.

Having recently passed a knowledge check inspection we thought we’d remind people to check. Every gas safe engineer will happily show you their card, if not question if they have one.

🥶 🥶 🥶 It’s definitely been cold! We’ve had a lot of extra calls so please understand if there is a delay in getting to everyone. 🚰 🛠️

Just a couple of today’s visits…. A frozen drain (which was stopping the boiler from working) and a burst pipe. Both fixed and happy customers.

But please make sure you know where your mains water shuts off and that the stopcock works. Isolate outside taps if possible. And remember sometimes you won’t know it’s frozen/burst until it gets warmer and defrosts so still be prepared when the cold snaps gone.

We would like to wish everyone a happy new year!

With the weather forecast showing temperatures dropping this week we would like to advise our customers to turn the heating on as per these guidelines.

“You should heat your home to a temperature that is comfortable for you. Low indoor temperatures can have a serious impact on your health, especially if you have medical conditions or are older try to heat rooms you spend a lot of time in, such as the living room or bedroom, to at least 18°C”

If you find your heating not working correctly we are happy to help improve it.

Hi everyone, sorry we haven’t posted for a while it’s been so busy. As it’s gas safety awareness week we thought we’d post about the importance of annual servicing (both gas and oil)

How can I prevent carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in my home?

The most important thing you can do to minimise the risk of CO poisoning is to ensure that your gas appliances are safety checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Installing an accredited audible carbon monoxide alarm in your home is a good second line of defence, as they emit a sound when CO is detected. However, because a CO detector’s alarm only activates once there is CO present, you should never rely on them as your sole form of prevention.

We supply and install a co alarm for £38.50+vat so if you don’t have one and would like one we can install when serving boilers just ask when booking in.
