Another bathroom finished this week.
Here we had the opportunity to help out a friend who had an empty room in their home, that was never finished as a bathroom when they extended years ago.
So with a blank canvas and a list of requirements, we got stuck in.
I had the pleasure on this job, welcoming Charlie to the team for his school work experience.
This was his first dive into the plumbing and heating world and he took to it really well.
This job required a decent amount of prep work, including first fix plumbing, new stud walls, waterproofing and over boarding.
The end result was this, a sleek spacious room, with a combined shower and bath, a dual wall hung vanity unit and concealed toilet cistern.
All finished with a complete tile and paint job.
This room should serve for many years to come.

This one was tight! But as always, we got the job done.
This Worcester had a split water jacket, so after discussions with the customer, he decided to opt for a new Navien system, complete with a fresh 10year warranty.
We also added a hive smart thermostat to the install. It’s like we were never there….. almost 🔥 💧

This old Jetstreme had come to the end of its life. A split on the heat exchanger meant only one thing…. A new Navien LCB700 super efficient oil boiler.
Not only do these Naviens have blue flame technology, they have the ability to fire on a low or high flame, which means you save oil!
And in comparison to what was removed, you save a lot.
They have a digital interface which tells you what the boiler is doing, every second it’s working and for the rare occasion it’s not, it tells you exactly why.
These also come with a standard 10year warranty.
So if you’re thinking about making your oil central heating more efficient, then Navien is the way forward 🔥

The original part of this house was built in the 1800s and has stood the test of time, it has weathered all elements and never really had any plumbing or heating installed. That was up until we got our hands on it. It’s certainly thrown us a few challenges along the way but nothing that we couldn’t overcome. The house now has a new 22mm water main direct from the stop c**k, 21 radiators, 250l of stored hot water, a hot water return circuit and a super efficient Navien Boiler.
We used 25mm MLCP to help us pull pipe work through out the floor, and copper press on the rest!
We’ve made the system very serviceable and easy to maintain for many years to come.
We always strive to make pipe work as neat as possible, when you have a blank canvas, no excuses just Innovations 🔥💧

A job from last summer that I forgot to post.
This was complete upgrade and conversion of a system that was installed in the early 60’s.
It was so old that the pump was driven with belts!
So after stripping out the old system in this basement, we built a slabbed platform to site the tank and accumulator, to prevent damage when the basement holds a little water.
We installled a 200lt unvented cylinder with a 400lt accumulator to maintain a decent flow of water and pressure.
Installed a hot return circuit back up to where the old cylinder was sited.
We then removed all the old tanks from the loft and sealed the heating circuit.
Changed all the radiators to new modern convectors with TRVs, then upgraded all of the controls to make the system more user-friendly.
We then powered it all with a new Grant floor standing boiler.
We’ve left the system ready to pick up the new part of the house with a separate heating zone.
Whilst we were here, we also installed a new oil tank.
All in all, a great effort from everyone to get this old house warm like never before 👌🏻

So after a en-suite 2 years ago, new boiler and cylinder in the summer, I’ve now finished a master bathroom for this customer.
Not much has changed in terms of design or layout, but a well needed freshen up to give this bathroom a new lease of life.
All boxings and dust traps removed, new lights and extractor fan, full tile and a plush new vanity made to measure.

A recent boiler and cylinder upgrade I undertook a while ago, with the help of a young apprentice Alfie.
We installed a new oil boiler outside on a new base.
Removed all tanks from the loft and sealed the system.
We then installed this unvented hot water cylinder and converted the hot to mains pressure.
Upgraded the heating controls, and wiring set up to a S-plan.
And a first for me, as I drilled through an armoured cable that powered the garage 🤦🏻‍♂️ Just shows how jobs can go wrong when running so smoothly. It’s not about the problems but how you go about putting them right 👌🏻
All flushed and ready to go and power restored to the garage ⚡️🔥

Some before and afters from a recent bathroom re-fit.
Stripped right back and re plastered by Ben Farrington Plastering . New hot, cold and waste pipes installed. New 2 way light switch to replace pull cord for lights and in-line extractor fan.
New architraves and skirting boards finished with a satin wood.
Installed a 1700x700 profile bath and a new dual outlet shower valve.
Bathroom was fitted out with Zannetti furniture in Liberty Blue with a matching bath panel.
Floor finished with a tile affect Karndean installed by JW Flooring

New oil central heating installation wrapped up last week.
40 year old Camray boiler removed from kitchen and a new super efficient Navien installed in the garage.
We removed all the radiators and the old 1 pipe system then replaced with new convector rads and a complete re-pipe of the entire property.
We also installed a new base for a bunded oil tank to replace the corroding metal one.
All pipe work taken externally and routed under the pavement to the garage.
Old flue terminal bricked up, and pipe work lagged and boxed in.
Paving slabs reinstated and re pointed.
To finalise the install, we added a Honeywell T6R wireless room stat.

Back to a job we did 2 years ago. Last time we were here, we installed a new boiler and 12m flue lining. Last week we installed 20 new radiators, unvented hot water cylinder and sealed the heating circuit for the new owners.
A lot of challenges were thrown at us, from crumbling walls to no drain points on drops, but as per, we got the job done 👍🏻
