🌪️ THE PERFECT STORM…

A quick update from Black Gold Gardens.

The last few weeks have certainly tested us. From unexpected time in hospital and van issues, to communication problems affecting Facebook and messaging systems, it felt like the perfect storm had arrived all at once.

As a small local business, these unexpected setbacks unfortunately caused delays to some quotes, invoices, site visits and messages, and for that I’d like to sincerely apologise.

The good news is that we’re now getting things back on track.

This garden was completely transformed from an uneven, overgrown space into a fresh modern garden ready to enjoy this summer ☀️

Project works included:

✅ Full garden clearance & preparation
✅ Concrete path removal
✅ Ground levelling and lawn preparation
✅ Premium fresh turf installation
✅ Decorative self-contained water feature installation
✅ Border shaping & finishing touches
✅ Waste removal and full tidy up

Removing the old concrete path helped open the garden up and create a much cleaner, more usable outdoor space with a softer modern feel.

Few changes in the process which we was happy to accommodate for the customer to make sure they are happy with the final result.

Another property brought back to the Black Gold standard 🖤🌿

This front garden was overgrown and closing in the entrance — making the space feel tight and untidy.

We carried out:
✔️ Full shrub reduction & reshaping
✔️ Olive trees crown lifted and professionally topiarised
✔️ Bed cleared, weeded & improved
✔️ New sleeper edging installed to open up the entrance
✔️ Fresh stone laid to create a clean, usable access area
✔️ Bark mulch applied for a tidy, low-maintenance finish
✔️ Defined borders for a sharp, modern look

The result?
A much more open, welcoming entrance with clean lines and a low-maintenance planting scheme that lifts the whole property.

This one came with a challenge — a sloped garden and an overgrown bed that needed bringing back under control.

✔️ Raised sleeper bed built into the slope
✔️ Rebar reinforcement for strength & support
✔️ Ground levelled and retained

Bed will be weeded and plants carefully removed for new soil and new planting

This front garden was heavily compacted with clay and full of stones and builder’s debris — not ideal for planting.

We carried out our Black Gold Soil Preparation, which included:
• Full removal of weeds and unwanted plants• Hand picking and removal of rubble and stones
• Breaking through the clay layer• Incorporating soil improver throughout
• Topped wit Top Soil
• Levelling and preparing beds ready for planting

With the milder weather arriving we’ve been busy helping clients get their gardens ready for the growing season ahead.
