🔨DUST FREE FLOOR SANDING & REPAIRS 🪚

Another floor brought back to life and another satisfied customer.

This property in Bath has had all the damaged boards removed & replaced with locally sourced boards from a reclemation yard. The boards were then sanded and refinished along with any screws being removed and replaced with a suitable nail to match in with the existing fixings.

Another one turned around last week. This mezzanine floor was turned from old and bland to fresh and light.

Pine inserts with oak rails and border. Floor sanded, loose areas identified and secured in situ, refinished in a clear glaze to bring out the different colours in the oak and pine.

🪚 PROFESSIONAL DUST FREE SANDING

Here we have a parquet floor with an oak border and a pine centre. Customer was looking to get a uniform darker colour and give the floor a new lease of life.

All loose areas lifted and glued back in situ, floor completely sanded, fully filled and then refinished in a whiskey coloured stain, before finally receiving two top coats of ultra raw finish.

Another large job completed. Photos don't quite do this job justice with the mix of lighting and shadows. Roughly 200m² of Engineered Oak flooring completely sanded back and refinished in 2 coats of Artic White and then sealed in a high traffic HD finish. As you can see the aged oak was starting to really darken and grey due to the original finish failing after being in place over 20 years, with sanding and some treatment for the greying this floor was ready for a new lease of life. (Some photos with a really high gloss appearance are still wet, whilst the photos with a smooth satin finish are dry)

Pine floorboards sanded and refinished for a customer looking to keep a rustic look with the original floorboards to match the age of the house. It was decided to sand the floor back leaving the small imperfections in the wood which add to the character and then refinish in a 'Natural Fiddes Harwax Oil'. The final result speaks for itself with a floor that now has many more years of life in it, with a light natural finish opening the room up.

Oak parquet floor sanded and refinished 12 months ago by another company to a poor standard. After sanding back and removing machine marks they left, the floor was fully filled, polished and refinished in a clear fiddes glaze. As you can see now the customer has the hallway they wanted with a durable finish.

A real turn around on this job that featured a pine parquet living room along with an oak hallway.
A few alterations in the hallway were needed to accomodate for a moved wall and doorway firstly, then it was a case of sanding both areas paying extra attention into the living room to flatten the floor and remove all bitumen paint residue. Both areas were then filled, received a final sand and refinished in two coats of Fiddes Natural HardWax Oil. The final result shown here in photos is still wet but once dry settles into a uniform satin sheen throughout.

Another set of pine floorbaords completed ✨

As you will find in many living rooms, that haven't been touched before, they will have a painted border. The reason behind this is that before fitted carpets were common practice it was very common for a rug to be laid in the middle of the room and a insulating bitumen based product to be painted around the rug. This is always a tedious task to remove due to the bitumen getting warm during sanding and returning to a tar, this in turns cloggs up abrasives quickly. However as you can see it is possible. The slight tone difference you will observe in the wood is due to the painted edges not being exposed to same ageing factors such as moisture levels, dirt and general wear and tear due to the protective layer of bitumen. This tone difference is exaggerated here due to this finish still being wet and will soften when dry.

Another job completed, this time restoring a kitchen/diner with pine boards. The floor had been stained in a dark date finish and sanded by a previous owner leaving a large amount of machine marks and damages.

The floor was completely sanded, polished and finish in Fiddes Natural HardWax Oil. This allowed to keep the pine light and help eliminate the 'orange' tinge that is so often associated with pine.

The last but one image is the floor still wet and the final image is a photo of the floor completely dry with it's satin sheen the following day provided by the customer.

Another parquet floor brought back to its former glory in this now converted coach house.

After being under carpets for many years the floor was lifting in a few places along with a previous fireplace that had been infilled with concrete and overall just looking very tired.

The concrete was removed, levelled and patched in with reclaimed parquet we sourced that was then individually trimmed to match the size of the existing blocks allowing us to pattern match the rest of the floor and allow it to appear as though it was never there.

The complete area was sanded and resin filled before being buffed and refinished in a clear satin glaze. In the final photos the finish is still wet but will dry to a very smooth satin sheen.
