Plot 15!
Hands on horticultural training, Newport, IW.
We’re underway for 2026 - Mission Zero have been to visit (thank you LUCY HARDY!) potatoes have planted, we’ve had a donation of manure (thank you THOMAS COWLEY!) and our first new trainee for the year starts this week. So exciting!

Did you know we've been organising heritage and conservation work experience placements over the last year?✨

The next placement is now open for applications, a Biosphere Festival Coordinator Placement with ! This placement is perfect for anyone who's passionate about nature and sustainability and is interested in learning more about events production, community building, and marketing🌿

This role is one day/week for 6 months, and you will be paid a stipend of £100/day to cover any expenses🤩

GREAT NEWS!

All About The Green, Plot 15! has been nominated and shortlisted for a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust WILDER AWARD for contributions to the community, wildlife and the environment. Wow! Judging is happening now, finals are in September - please like and share our posts to raise our profile. Thank you!

CANCELLED!
Unfortunately complaints have been received regarding our planned event. What a shame! We are hoping to be able to relocate and create opportunity to meet the team and our trainees at an alternative site as part of the IW Biosphere Festival 2025. GREAT NEWS for Plot 15!
We have permission to have an Open Day, Plant Sale and Giveaway! 10am-3pm Friday 04/07 as part of the IW Biosphere Festival. So exciting! Our trainees would love to show you our community sustainable gardening allotment project - website in comments - please save the date!
And huge thanks to Roger Draper for strawberry plants, to Jan for a potted fig, to Chris Melrose for some lovely baby tomato and sweetcorn plants, to Cate Dickinson for the great little broccoli and cabbage plants and to Richard Langan and his Mum for a greenhouse. Aren’t we lucky? Yes!

*IN MEMORY*
Of Pete Jacobson his family, Mavis Jacobson and Kate Lewis, have kindly donated Pete’s garden to All About The Green - his Dahlias, his tools, his greenhouse and all his gardening paraphernalia. So sorry for your loss, thank you so much for thinking of us. In homage and as a celebration of thanks to Pete and his family we will be planting all his fancy Dahlias at Plot 15! A spot in the sun for Pete. Thank you! :o) X

A big thank you to VENTNOR FRIENDS OF WIGHT HORTICULTURE for visiting, to BLACKHOUSE QUAY for donating topsoil, to WIGHT EMBROIDERY for lovely and supersonic customer service, to WENDY MOTH for donating heavy duty timber doors and to JO BOHM and DEE BLACKMAN for donating plants. And a big hello to ALEX CRILLY, KELLY RIMMER and LOUIS HAYDEN!
What a good month, huge thanks to all that have brought themselves to the party!
