Hello Everyone,
This week we’ve been working on 2 large poplar removals for a client whose trees had become heavily overgrown for the garden area and were starting to pose a risk to nearby properties and a car park area.

The trees were carefully dismantled and removed, with all arisings processed on site. The timber was left in larger sections at the client’s request, and the brush was chipped and recycled into useful woodchip mulch. Remaining stumps were treated to prevent regrowth and support natural decay.

The job was made much safer and more efficient using our 26m cherry picker, allowing us to access difficult areas with ease. (Also available for hire – ideal for trees, hedge work, and other hard-to-reach projects.)

🌳 Hello Everyone.

We’ve had a full-on few days on site tackling a range of tree work.

One of our larger jobs included removing a Sycamore that had outgrown its space, along with an Ash tree suffering from ash dieback and leaning toward the client’s property.

We also carried out some targeted limb removals from a multi-stemmed london plane tree, where heavy limbs were overhanging both a garden and a telephone line.

We also had to stump grind the remaining stumps using our impressive Predator stump grinder, helping the client move forward with their garden re-landscaping. (Video in comments)

🌳 Big Tree Dismantle This Week 🌳

This week the team tackled a very large Leylandii (× Cuprocyparis leylandii) that had unfortunately outgrown the garden. Due to its size and height it had started posing a risk to the property and several neighbouring properties, so the decision was made to safely dismantle it down to a stump at an agreed height with the client.

This was a technical dismantle, with sections carefully rigged down using ropes to safely avoid several nearby targets including a neighbour’s pond, hot tub and fencing. Rigging like this allows us to control each section as it comes down and helps minimise disruption or damage to the surrounding garden.

A big thank you to the lovely customers who kept the team going with a steady supply of tea, coffee, cakes and doughnuts – very much appreciated by the crew! ☕🍩

Hello All,
Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet on the posts recently. Our teams have been very busy over the past couple of weeks carrying out ash dieback safety works on rural footpaths, woodland areas, and roadsides for a number of woodland charities and organisations across the island.

Ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) is a disease that affects Ash tree. It slowly weakens and kills the tree, making the wood brittle. When the infection becomes severe, branches — or even the whole tree — can fail, which is why affected trees sometimes need to be safely removed.

Here are 5 key signs to look out for if an ash tree may have ash dieback:

1.Dead branches in the crown – the top of the tree begins to thin, with bare or dying branches.

2.Black or wilted leaves – leaves may turn dark, shrivel, and fall earlier than normal.

3.Dark lesions on the bark – diamond-shaped or sunken patches where the bark appears damaged.

4.Lots of new shoots on the trunk – the tree produces small shoots lower down as it struggles to survive.

5.Brittle or falling branches – dead limbs snap easily and may fall even in light winds.

Hello everyone,
This week we spent a couple of days carrying out specialist fruit tree pruning within a small orchard. The orchard consisted of a mixture of apple, pear and plum trees.

Each tree was carefully reduced to a more manageable height while preserving the natural crown structure and maintaining future fruit production. Pruning was carried out to established fruiting buds, and the canopy was selectively thinned to improve light pe*******on and air circulation — helping to promote a stronger, healthier crop yield.

Hi all,
Despite the wet weather last week, we’ve been busy carrying out a variety of tree and hedge works. This included a careful hedge reduction to retain privacy and wind protection while bringing the height down to a more manageable level.

We also lightly pruned a silver birch back to appropriate growth points to promote healthy regrowth and maintain a balanced, attractive canopy.

Following this, we safely removed a dead pine that was heavily leaning over a neighbouring property and a dead larch. Both trees were dismantled in sections to ensure no damage to the surrounding garden or fence line.
In addition, we re-pollarded a eucalyptus back to its previous points in line with best practice, giving the tree the best opportunity for strong, controlled regrowth. All arisings were chipped on site, with the customer able to reuse the woodchip for garden borders, and suitable timber was cut into firewood.

Hello everyone,

We’ve been a little quiet on here recently, mainly due to being busy on site and not always remembering to document and share what we’ve been up to.

Going forward, we’ll be making a real effort to regularly showcase and explain the work we carry out each week.

Today, one of our teams completed a reduction and deadwood removal on a large, protected oak tree. The works involved carefully pruning limbs encroaching over the property and reducing them back to suitable growth points. This allows the tree to maintain its health while developing into a more balanced and contained shape on the house side.
