We’re back at Lamorna.
After a short pause in the programme, we’re now back on site and properly moving this exceptional Cornwall home forward again.
This elevation is a great example of how the material palette is beginning to come together.
The warmth and natural movement of the vertical timber cladding, the permanence of the Cornish granite stonework, the crisp shadow lines created by the dark aluminium pressings, and the clean finish of the aluminium glazing are all working together exactly as intended.
It is the junctions that make these elevations — every reveal, flashing, transition and interface has to be carefully considered so that the finished building feels cohesive, not like separate materials simply meeting each other.
There has been a huge amount of planning and craftsmanship behind these details, and it is brilliant to see the architect’s vision now becoming a reality.
More Lamorna progress to come.
