***New Scottish Law comes into effect from Feb 2022. If you have not had this work completed in your home your home insurance for fire may be invalidated should you have a fire*** Most people are not aware of these changes so please share.

Fire and smoke alarms in your own home - Scottish government law change.

Scottish Government are introducing new standards for fire and smoke alarms in all homes from February 2022. A key part of the legislation is that the alarms must be interlinked either Wired or Wireless in all homes in Scotland.

From the proposed date, every home must have:

1) A smoke alarm in the living room and in circulation spaces such as hallways and landings
2) A heat detector in every kitchen
3) All alarms ceiling mounted and inter-linked
4)A carbon monoxide alarm where there are fixed combustion appliances such as boilers and wood burners

The new rules mean the standard which currently applies to private rented property and new-builds is being extended to ALL homes in Scotland.

Another composite decking job completed for one of my customers. Apex Eva last in Thermo Ash measuring 8mtr x 3mtr with integral steps at both ends with the help of JM Maintenance Services.

Emergency call out leading to complete replacement of shower room, floor, walls and down stairs kitchen roof repair. All work carried out by AMTS.

Top Bar Bee Hive - A Client ask if we could make him a bee hive with options to do more. Not done one of these before but a quick check on the net and here it is. Made with untreated white wood T&G pine to ensure no pesticides that could harm the bees and no paint or chemicals, just a bee friendly varnish / oil. 😉 Not 100% complete but just some finishing touches to do before hand over.

Another bathroom install completed for a client prior to Christmas. All Joinery, plumbing, tiling and finishing completed by AMTS. Really pleased with the finished look.😉

Been a little quiet with the posts lately due to being out the door with work and a couple of big bathroom projects (Thanks everyone).

Heres the latest job just finished for a client I have ready in time for hiding the pressies from the kids, Loft ladder fitted (Previous post) and loft floored utilising loft stilts to maintain government guidance of loft insulation recommended height 270mm.😉 Thanks for the business
