Worked on a Ancient Tree preservation ordered Oak tree today 5.45 metres dbh, tree report and deadwood, Estimated to be over 300 years old planted since the 1600’s with lots of history, from being a spar tree to fell woodland for the war effort with large scoring from chains wearing at the stem. Many wounds and cavaties an individual ecosystem a community of living organisms interacting with each other and host.🌳🌲

Ganoderma applanatum - It typically causes white rot, decaying both lignin and cellulose, leaving the wood spongy and pale, Presence low on the stem or at the base often indicates significant decay in the root or butt zone, so the tree may be structurally compromised. Trametes versicolor (Turkey Tail) It causes white rot in dead or decaying wood and is a common secondary coloniser following primary pathogens such as Ganoderma. 🌲🌳
