"It's never quite a 5-minute job..."

This rotten door threshold panel looked like a simple replacement, but every repair has a process behind it.

✔ Collected materials
✔ Removed damaged timber
✔ Cut new piece to size
✔ Applied primer to all faces and edges
✔ Installed and finished

The original 6mm plywood had failed due to moisture ingress, so it was replaced with a much more durable 20mm dressed redwood section, ready to stand up to the elements for years to come.

Sometimes the smallest jobs make the biggest difference. 🔨

Busy start to the week! 🛠️

Project 1: Replacement Rear Door

Fitted a stunning LPD double-glazed oak cottage door.

Upgraded with new solid brass ironmongery and a high-security BS 5-lever mortice lock.

Replaced the old door stops with modern, upgraded stops featuring integrated draught-proofing.

Project 2: Garage Door Upgrade

Ripped out the old, tired door and replaced it with a heavy-duty solid door blank.

Used the Adaptool™️ guide with my Dewalt palm router to custom-groove it into a matching cottage style. Another amazing upgrade 👌

Finished with matching brass ironmongery and another BS 5-lever lock for top-tier security.

All new external timber has been primed with a high-quality oil-based primer, fully prepped and ready for the painter to apply the final gloss coat. 🎨👨‍🎨

First job of the week in the books! ✅

There is nowhere to hide in a narrow hallway, especially when you’re dealing with 7 different doorways. Hallways like this are a massive test of patience and precision. Every single cut has to be absolutely seamless to make the space flow.

Out with the tired, 16-year-old carpet and in with this stunning, durable Oak laminate. It completely opens up the space, brings in the light, and is built to handle years of heavy foot traffic.

Precision over pace, every single time. 🪵🪚

Getting this gorgeous fresh Larch from Tyninghame Sawmill ready for a new garden gate kit. You can't beat beautiful, locally sourced timber. 🙌

🛠️ Plenty going on lately, but forgetting to get my camera out!

I've been flat out with a massive variety of jobs recently.

Managed to grab a quick photo of this shed build I helped the client assemble when the supplier let them down.

But the rest of the list kept me too busy to snap:

🚪 Timber garage door repairs & heavy-duty hinge upgrades.

🌧️ Installed a new Exitex weather bar to a back door

🦺 Installed a safety grab rail

📦 Built garage and shed storage systems

💨 Replaced mesh vents for a boiler room

No job too big or too small. Keeping local properties solid, secure, and weather-tight! 🪵🪚

Clean lines on the outside, engineered to last on the inside. 🔨✨

Just completed this bespoke gate and infill panel in North Berwick. While it looks like a traditional timber picket gate from the street, it’s actually built onto a fully custom-welded steel frame with integrated fixing points and steel posts.

The Scottish coast doesn't mess around, so neither do we. Wrapped in dressed redwood and hung with stainless steel fixings to survive the elements. 🌊💨

Client is taking over the final topcoats, but the heavy lifting is done.

Egg Box to Solid Oak. 🛠️

We ditched the dated, brown plywood flush doors for a massive upgrade.

We’ve just installed these stunning Seville Oak Pre-finished doors from , giving this home the weight and quality it deserves.

The client nailed the finishing touches, pairing the oak with Serozetta handles in antique brass. No more flimsy ply-this is joinery built to last and stress-tested for the long haul.

Aside from the stunning antique brass finish, they came with minimal plastic packaging. In an industry that usually creates mountains of non-recyclable waste, it’s a breath of fresh air to install hardware that’s as thoughtful as it is solid.

When the North Sea wind decides your gate belongs in the next county, it’s time for a proper reset. 💨🚫

This gate post was ripped clean off the masonry. A standard "plug and screw" fix won't cut it here, that just leads to a repeat performance. We’ve gone back to basics to make this one bulletproof:

🛠 The Fix:

Deep-set anchors into the stone for a permanent bond.

New heavy-duty hinges and latch.

Fitted a gate spring for a guaranteed shut but balanced perfectly to avoid slamming the joints to pieces.

Secure, solid, and ready for whatever the East Lothian weather throws at it next.
